How nice to see this post!!!!!!! I saw your post on the other side, and was so glad to see you post again. Had a wonderful Christmas in Dallas w/DD and group. I think it was the best one EVER, and we're already full of ideas for next year on decorations. She has agreed to let me set up the Dicken's Village on a permanent display. I've been collecting the village pieces for her for several years, and it has outgrown the place she set it up annually, so now it'll be a permanent part of her house. I'll have to cut the plywood, drill holes for the cords, make lifts of different heights, cover it w/white felt, and then the fun w/begin w/us both making the village come alive. We watch "Scrooge" every year as one of the traditional holiday DVDs we start watching around Thanksgiving, and it is always an inspiration to buy MORE village pieces. Don't be AWOL anymore - I missed you.

I love the Village displays. I have several from the New England collection. Lighthouse, boathouse, ship captain's house. I also have some of the haunted houses.

Setting them up as a permanent display will be wonderful!! What fun!! I know it will be a masterpiece when you're done.
