dry hot summer

we're hoping for rain here in the mountains.

it's so dry. the creek behind the house is

barely running. but at least some of the weeds are

choking along with the flowers.

ppl aren't watering their gardens to conserve water.

i've been using rinse water

but the earth drinks it up v fast and it's really not enough water for the garden.

one beautiful plant in my yard is really thriving

tho, a tithonia.

she doesn't even care if there's a drought or not, just keeps blooming sizzling red daisy flowers in the frontyard.

i sympathize with those of you who are having 100 degree temps !

today was 93 degrees here and like an oven outside.

Hey, KAT: How about several days here of 107. I've given up on saving EVERY plant - simply not gonna stand in the heat w/a hose to reach the ones that the sprinklers don't. Need to re-vamp the sprinkler heads to reach over all the foliage. Temp prediction today is ONLY 97, but there's a cool snap coming - wooo hoo - 88 in a few days. Hottest summer I remember in l'il ole TXANA. Dog Days of August - not fun.

It's just hot all over!
We have gotten some rain here in S.Tx due to the hurricanes, but not enough.
Sooo glad I got rid of the kiln and got a pool!

It's hot here in California too...I think 103 today. Whew! I went out to work with my wet tile saw outside and had to stop for all the sweat in my eyes and makeup all over my dress from wiping my brow. I think I'll get to some gluing instead. Stay cool wherever you are.
