I got a wet saw for $5.00 !!!

I am still dancing a happy dance today. Yesterday Jane and I went out to a few thrift stores before I had to go to work for the afternoon shift. We had half an hour left and decided to go to one more for a "quickie".Well Eagle eye Jane spied this old heavy duty rock saw there. She showed it to me and me being so frugal said I just wasn't sure I wanted too spend to much on a saw right now. She went over to the gals who are doing the selling batted her purtty long eye lashes and got a price agreed on of $5.00. Jumpin Jiminy who could walk away from that??? It even has a diamond blade on it. It is real dusty and dirty , needs a good cleaning and the belt adjusted and then it is good to go. I am so amazed that I got such a great score. Hopefuly this weekend I can get it all cleaned up and do a couple of trial cuts.Jane got a really pretty chintz pattern plate for $1.00.I took my saw to work and showed the guys my new score I was so happy, lol.

Most EXCELLENT score!!! Wowsa...I better keep my eyes out here, too. I don't even think our big GW and SA thrifts have "tool" departments. But YS season is just around the corner- yeee haaa!!!!

This looks like the saw we found! What a day/ well, morning! Her fireplace is just about ready to start mosaicing and looks awesome!!! Her craftroom is starting to really take shape, and then we found that saw!!! AND she gave me a bunch of millifiore!!!! Just Gave it to me!!! Ya, I gotta post that plate too!

That saw is awesome..I saw the picture Jane posted and I dont know if I would have even glanced at it twice if I would have saw it cuz I wouldnt have known what it was. Great find!!!!

Thrift stores and tile saws, you're singing my
kind of song!

I love my tile saw and cry often because I cannot
use it right now. The weather is nasty and it is
really an outdoor tool, so in the meantime I'll try
to be patient. We did have an indoor booth of sorts
to use it, but that was no fun. I missed the mess.
Ha!

Congrats! Love to cut things on my tile saw, it's
a blast!

Holy canoli! That's the deal of the century.

You two are so lucky to have someone to play with in the mosaic sandbox. I would love to have someone like that, but I'm sure my husband wouldn't - I would probably be dragging in even more junk (I mean, tesserae).
