I got this one years ago off the side of a Betty Crocker Supreme Brownie mix. It's really good and I make it regularly. OATMEAL BROWNIES 2-1/2 cups oatmeal, uncooked 3/4 cup all-purpose flour 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar 1/2 tsp. baking soda 3/4 cup butter, melted 1 pkg. brownie mix + ingredients needed on box 1/2 cup chopped nuts Heat oven to 350° F. Grease bottom only of 13- x 9- x 2-inch baking pan. Mix oats, flour, brown sugar, and baking soda; stir in margarine. Reserve 1 cup of the oat mixture. Press remaining oat mixture in prepared pan. Bake 10 minutes; cool 5 minutes. Prepare brownies as directed on package; stir in nuts. Spread over baked oat layer; sprinkle with reserved oat mixture. Bake 35-40 minutes; cool. Cut into bars. Yield: 48 brownies.

Yes minirose---I would only give them a hot water bath for 5 min.. 20 minutes would cook the cabbage and make it limp. You only want to seal the jars not cook the contents. Often I don't even water bath pickles. I meticuously wipe the jar tops with damp paper towel and always use new snap lids and if they pop and go concave the jar is sealed. In all the many years I've been canning I can count on one hand the number of jars that have spoiled and they are usually jars that are old. I do raw pack tomatoes and hot water bath them for 35 minutes and the tomatoes boil and cook in it. My quarts of tomato juice with the contents cooked calls for 10 min.

Hand Cut French Fries with Spicy Ketchup Use direct/medium heat on grill 1/4 cup ketchup 1/2 tsp chile sauce 1/2 tsp balsamic vinegar 2 russet potatoes, about 8 oz each 1 T olive oil 1 T minced garlic 1/2 tsp kosher salt 1/2 tsp freshly ground pepper In a small bowl mix together the ketchup, chile sauce and balsamic vinegar. Set aside Scrub the potatoes under cold running water and dry thoroughly but do not peel. cut lengthwise into 1/2" thick slices, then cut the slices into 1/4" thick wedges. Place the wedges in a medium bowl. Toss with the olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper. Place the wedges on the grill, being careful not to let them drop through the openings. Cook directly over medium heat until golden brown, turning once, about 10 minutes. For extra crispy fries, open the grill and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, turning once. Serve warm with the ketchup. Makes 4 servings. source:Weber's The Art of the Grill My note: I tried this with one large baking potato. Sliced maybe 1/4-1/8" thick slices. Rolled them in light olive oil,garlic powder and salt & pepper. Grilled until browned. My ketchup mixture was about 1/2 cup ketchup, 1/2 cup chile sauce and I drizzled a bit of balsamic vinegar. Very good!

Refrigerator space issues resolved; so glad now that I won't be needing this one now :)
