LOOKING for: Low Carb Pie Crust for Apple Pie

Posted by vickey__mn (My Page) on

DH is recently diagnoised as Diabetic. Apple season is here, and I'd like to make him an apple TART (Hey if an apple pie is there, he'll be tempted to eat it, the apple tart...it will be gone and easier to control the temptation), anyway if I can cut the carbs on the crust, I think I can fit it into his evening snack or for "dessert" with supper. Any suggestions?

Make a nut crust. I chop nuts real fine, add butter and Splenda, bake or toast nuts before using. Can use for a crumb topping also. The toasted nut flavor is great! This is the best way to have a crust when diabetic.
