I'm sorry to disagree with you all, but I purchased it and it did work. I lost 6 pounds in 2 days, which I think is worth it. All of my friends were sure it was just water weight, but I have kept the weight off even after attending a wedding in New Orleans that very next weekend. Losing the 6 pounds made me feel better about myself so that I had the confidence to start going to the gym again and watch what I eat. Sure, it isn't the best tasting "juice" around, and I did have to go to the bathroom every 15 minutes or so, but that subsided the second day. I wasn't hungry at all, except for when I went to bed at night - before I fell asleep, my stomach would growl. I did miss the "habit" of eating. I followed the directions to the T.... you MUST drink it all day long - tiny sips every couple of minutes or so. Plus drink the 96 oz of water that it requires as well. I would be curious to see if those folks that say it didn't work for them followed the directions. This juice diet isn't the solution to your dieting needs, but it did give me a jump start, so now I watch what I eat and excerise regulary.

This makes a lot but it reheats fine in the microwave. THREE-GRAIN PILAF 1/ 2 cup whole barley 1 cup boiling water 2 tsp. butter 1/ 2 lb. fresh mushrooms , sliced 3/ 4 tsp. lemon juice 1 large egg 3/ 4 cup kasha (toasted buckwheat groats) 1 Tbs. vegetable oil 3/ 4 cup long-grain white rice 2 medium onions, chopped 1 large clove garlic, minced 3 cups beef broth or stock (can use vegetable broth) 1/ 4 chopped fresh parsley Salt & pepper Put the barley in a small bowl and pour the boiling water over it. Let soak for 1 to 1 1/ 2 hours. Drain and set aside. Melt the butter in a heavy medium saucepan over moderately high heat. Add the mushrooms and saute, stirring occasionally, until browned. If the pan seems too dry, add a Tbs. of water to encourage the cooking. The mushrooms will be dry at first but then release their juices. Transfer to a bowl and stir in the lemon juice; reserve. In a small bowl, stir the egg with a fork. Stir in the kasha until coated and then dump into the pan you just used. Stir constantly over moderately high heat until dry and lightly toasted, 2 to 3 minutes. Turn out onto a plate and reserve. Spoon the vegetable oil into the same pan and stir in the white rice. Stirring constantly, cook over medium heat until golden, about 2 to 3 minutes. Add the onions and cook, stirring, to soften, about 3 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds longer. Add the drained barley, kasha and mushrooms to the pan. Add the beef broth and bring to a boil, stirring, over high heat. Reduce the heat to low, cover tightly and simmer, stirring gently once or twice, until the grains are tender and the liquid is absorbed, about 15-20 minutes. Fluff with a fork. Stir in the parsley, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve hot. Makes 10 servings of slightly under 1 cup each.

Here's the recipe: ***Secret Recipe*** One Cup Papaya Juice One Banana One-Half Cup Green Tea / strongly brewed One Scoop Soy Protein Powder w/ Spirulina One-half Cup Blueberries / Can Be Frozen One-Fourth Cup Carrot Juice One-Fourth Cup Apricot Juice One-Half Cup Non-Fat Plain Yogurt One Pack Sweet & Low Blend all of the above ingredients together until smooth. Serve over ice. Recipe yields 2 servings. Drink every 3 hours or less (up to 6 times a day). --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks Hallie for replying. I just noticed this post. I am feeling much better now and seem to have the acid reflux under control with medication. I was on Prevacid for a few weeks but the pills were making me sick. I could take it for 3 days and on the 4th day I would feel ill. They did not work for me. I went back to the Zantac but they stopped working too. Back to the doctor and he gave me samples of Pantoloc. Wonderful, wonderful medicine. This is the one that is working for me. I take one around dinner time and that means I have no more pain at night I have been careful in what I eat and I have lost 25 pounds but I do once in a while splurge on something that might cause me pain, but so far nothing I cannot handle. I can have garlic in very small amounts but onions are out all together. I had a little sphagetti with sauce tonight and I feel a slight twinge so I best stay away from tomato sauces for now. I have had my heart checked to rule out the pain was not my heart. My cholesterol is great, no high blood pressure, passed cardiac stress test with flying colours and had an echocardiogram. The heart palpations I thought I was feeling turned out to be spasms in my esophogus. Any food that goes into my mouth cause a spasm so when I feel it I now know that it is not my heart. I am so happy my doctor suggested the Pantoloc. My doctor was giving me samples of the drug until he ran out so he has ordered more for me. I have had to buy them for this month from the pharmacist. They cost $75.00 for 30 pills which is a little expensive for me to pay for each month but if they work I will have to sacrifice something else to get them.
