| I was looking for a recipe for Pedialyte and found an additional recipe that might help anyone out there with a baby. My DD was ill a while back and I went to the store to buy Pedialyte, VERY EXPENSIVE! I'll be trying the homemade version next time. The homemade formula is a little iffy in my standards, but I remember running out of formula a few times when the weather was crazy and wishing there was something I could substitute it w/ for a few hours.
Pedialyte 1/2 tsp tablesalt
1) Mix everything w/ 1 liter boiling water. 2) Feed 1 ltr to supplement the regular nutrition of a child, 6 months or older, w/ severe diarrhea. (I think you could add an unsweetened packet of Kool-Aid to this for flavor.) Homemade Baby Formula
2(12 oz) cans evaporated milk
Mix thoroughly and keep refridgerated. Source for these recipes: www.recipegoldmine.com |
