Some suggestions: (if you can have fruit): Fresh fruit salad Applesauce with raisins and cinnamon (add nuts for crunch) Frozen grapes Smoothie made with protein powder, frozen berries, wheat germ Other: Oatmeal made with teaspoon of natural peanut butter mixed in Peanut butter - if it's natural of course. I find it really satisfies my sweet tooth! I eat it right from the jar, smooth or crunchy! Also add it to apples, celery, bananas, toast, crackers. Sugar free chocolate pudding; you can freeze it too, mmm Sugar free mints and gum Hope this helps!

Just because you have to cut out sugar doesn't mean that you have to suffer. Try sugar free cookies, cake recipes, candy and such. I live in a small town and our grocery store carries these so I am sure your does. Also we use Splenda, we have found that to be the best substitute out there. Instead of drinking regular or diet pop try Diet Rite. That is also made with Splenda. It is just as easy to use Splenda in a recipe that calls for sugar just a bit more expensive. I have a cheesecake in the oven now and am looking forward to supper. We have to watch our sugars and are living low carb as well. Good luck. Christie |

Are you a diabetic? If so please be careful using the "sugar free" dessert products. I am helping a friend learn how best to eat and be happy while keeping his blood sugar within normal limits. I would be glad to hear about how you are coping and to exchange ideas! Email me if you are interested. Good luck!

Yes, watch sugar free. They sometimes have sugar alcohol and actually more carbs!

I have been cooking sugarfree for 30 years for my husband who is diabetic. I have found that rather than using recipes that add "a little sugar", I use products that are made as "sugarfree". One of our favorite is to start with an angelfood cake, tear it in pieces, put 1/2 cup prepared sugarfree pudding in large glass bowl, sprinkle in cake pieces, put some sugarfree coolwhip on top of cake, put in more pudding, then cake, cool whip and pudding...top with a can of Comstock Sugarfree cherries...dot a bit of cookwhip on top...makes an elegant desert.
