RECIPE: Crockpot dinner ideas

Posted by sclaeys (My Page) on

I just received a crockpot for a gift and I am not an experienced cooker. So I need recipes for different dinners that can be prepared in crockpot...and when I say recipe I mean detail by detail. I don't have much experience in cooking but I do pretty good when I do...thanks.

I believe there is a site at YahooGroups.com
Do a search there for "crockpot" and see what you find.

Was there a recipe book with your crockpot, if so it should have a few good recipes. Also the public library has plenty of cookbooks and the internet. Use Google.com and search for "+crockpot+recipes"

I make Italian Beef in my crock pot that my family likes.
1 - 2 or 3 pound beef roast (I use sirloin tip roast),
1 - regular size jar of yellow pickled pepper rings,
1 - packet of Good Seasons dry Italian dressing mix
That's it! You do not have to brown the roast just wash it & put it in the crock pot. Pour the entire jar (juice & all) of pepper rings on top the roast & sprinkle the packet of dressing mix over this. Put the top on & cook on low for about 8 to 10 hours or until tender. When the meat is tender, break it apart with a fork while mixing it up with the pepper rings & juices. Serve over hoagie buns. Yum!!!
