After reading all of your posts, Carol and I are going to make the blue bottle windchimes for Christmas presents! Shysue, we find the blue bottles at a local import world market store and some at liquor stores. Maria, Carol said she ordered the bottle cutter from Delphi but she practiced and practiced and practiced on ugly wine bottles. She also took a class on cutting bottles. She has the patience of a saint (She has to...she's married to me! LOL) and is really good at cutting the bottles now. We grind the edges to smooth them out after they're cut. Thanks for the great idea for the pillar candles! Those dang things take forever to burn up and it just seems a shame to throw them out. Such a shame that I have been known to pick them out of the garbage when I see them there. lol! I got a big charge out of your puppie story too. They sure looked repentent in their crate after you took the aluminum foil roll away from them. And I can never get enough of your "fairies!"

I'm going to have to get some of those as gifts as well. I have family members with pets that are afraid to burn candles in case the animals knock them over--this would work well. Thanks. I use a different type of what I consider a flameless candle for the scent--the reed diffusers. I love the ones that Pier One sells. I put them all over the house and flip the reeds every once in a while. I don't have to worry about lighting candles and I get a great scent.

Those scent cubes are just wax, scent & color. If I am to assume that the scent is used up, it's just wax & color, so I think it would be OK.
