Do you sell or trade for your soaps/lotions/body butters/etc?

I really want to buy body butter or body frosting or lotion in a strawberries and cream scent and I'm actually having a really hard time finding.

Does anybody make any or know of a source?

Ohhh... It has alcohol. I know what people say about alcohol but I know that my skin and hair have become a lot less dry since I've cut products containing alcohol out.

Enduring, I would think about two. One for lotion, one for soap. But, I forgot, is this your Master bath, or a guest one? Unfortunately, for a guest one, you may have the eternal problem of having to explain which is which, or letting each guest experiment each visit... I actually bought our kitchen sink one from HD. I had gone there intending to buy one to match our Blanco Rados faucet, and the sales guy actually talked me into purchasing the no-name $14 one hanging on a rack. We've had it for 7 years (CANNOT believe our kitchen reno is 7 years old!), only clogged once, and DH took it all apart and cleaned out the gook...took me awhile to stop reefing on that poor ol' spout that was no longer plugged! So, the point of my post is that you don't necessarily need to spend the big bucks to find a dispenser that will work well and look good. (The NN one from HD looked very much like the Blanco one that cost 10X more!) Old pic showing soap dispenser:

Roselver - I don't have any Honeysuckle. Don't think I ever smelled that one. I went through and tossed the ones that were 8+ years old. I'll try and find someone who can use the others. I just can't bring myself to throw them out if they're new or almost new. Did want to clarify I haven't been adding to the collection. They've been gifts from other people. Couldn't tell you the last time I bought any of the above. I have had people tell me they go fast at yard sales which still amazes me. I had one yard sale ever and I swore never again. It wasn't worth it. About 10 years ago BBW used to have a glitter lotion (was in the kid section) called Berry Go Round. Yum, yum, yum I love the smell of that stuff. I have a little in the bottle and won't chuck it because it smells so awesome.

It may not penetrate, but the purpose is to keep a barrier between the moisture in/on your skin and the air - so that the moisture can't evaporate so easily - my doctor told me that for very dry skin, cream is much better than lotion, it should say "cream" on the jar. I use Clinique moisture online for my face and Walmarts off brand of Eucerin cream in a pot for the rest of my body. I used the Eucerin brand cream and then tried the off brand and there was *no* difference, except for a radical savings price wise. I slather it all on *while I'm still damp from the shower* I only dab off the big water droplets. It won't be nearly as effective if you dry off the water. I have very dry skin, by following these directions it has really helped, for me anyway.

Thank you for your helpful page! I am a first timer at at making body butter's & I am gathering supplies currently. Is 1 part liquid oil to 2 parts solid oils the approx. proportions for a basic recipe as mentioned by athena. Ingredients are costly & I would hate to waste them. This one question seems difficult to pin down, I want to make a larger batch to share & most recipes are all over the place with amounts. Also I have seen many recipes where they add cornstarch to make product less greasy, do you have any idea of how much to add, to say like 1/3 cup oil to 2/3 cup harder solids? Is there a really good book you could recommend? Also where to find a good lip gloss recipe? Much appreciation in advance? Thank you , Lola :)

oops, you didn't state the you were avoiding certain ingredients..
So my suggestion..make your own. It's really easy to make whipped body butter. Little skin loving butter, melted and whipped..can add some skin loving oils to it too..and a little skin safe fragrance oil.
Keep in the fridge or make only enough for a few weeks at a time..don't let any water in it..If you want to keep it longer or are concerned about bacteria growing, add a preservative.
