Candle storage is a problem for me as I have quite a few that I don't burn (decorative only) or the wax hurricane type that lasts forever. I also can never resist when I find good quality tapers on sale and will buy multiples then. Officially I store most in boxes in the cold room altho whenever I want a particular one it's a problem finding exactly what I want so I definitely need a better system. I'm convinced DH has 'hidden' a box from me as there are missing votives. He claims not but it's likely in the back of a closet or on the top shelf of the cold room where I can't reach. I have started putting some tapers in the drawer of the sideboard in our greatroom so they are easily accessible. I don't think they will ever get too warm there altho I may have to move them before summer as the house could get too warm then if we are away. I keep tealights in an enamel pot and some in another lidded pot which are handy to the kitchen and greatroom. They are what I burn mostly. I like using various containers such as bean pots or ceramic or pottery containers to store things. Hidden but handy.

They put out a new newsletter each month. I did make me a copy. I will try scanning it and posting it.

Where ever we have lived, I either hang a cork bulletin board and hang my jewelery from either push pins or T pins. In one home, I bought 3 acoustic ceiling tiles, attached them to the wall, edged them with lace, and used t pins to hold the jewelry. The tile material was soft enough, I could just push the posts from ear rings into it too. It was decorative as well as useful. dottie

Here's my FAVORITE Rum Cake: Recipe For Christmas Rum Cake Ingredients: 1 or 2 qts. of rum 1 cup butter 1/8 tsp. sugar 2 large eggs 1 cup dried fruit baking powder 1 tsp. baking soda lemon juice brown sugar nuts Directions: Before you start, sample the rum to check for quality. Select a large mixing bowl, measuring cup, etc. Check the rum again. It must be just right! To be sure the rum is of the highest quality, pour 1 level cup of rum into a glass and drink it as fast as you can. Repeat. With an electric mixer, beat butter in large fluffy bowl. Add 1 seaspoon of thugar and beat again. Meanshile, it's important to make sure the rum is of the finest quality - try another cup. Open the second quart of rum if necessary. Add 1 arge leggs, 2 cups of fried druits and beat till high. If the druits get stuck in the beats, just pru it loose with a drewscriver. Sample the rum again for cinscistincy. Next, sift 3 cups of salt and feffer (it really doesn't matter). Sample the wum again. Sift 1 pint of lemon goose, add 1 bablespoon of brown thugar, of whatever color tou can find. Mix well. Grease oven, turn cake pan to 350 greeds. Noe, pour the whole mess sinto the boven and ake. Check the crum again and go to bed. From: joeks.com
