Just dropping in..

Thought I would drop in and say Hi and see what everyone has been up to. I have been busy; our shop in the flea market has been kind of slow (probably due to the dreadful summer heat and humidity) but private sales have been up and have kept me busy. Does anyone have anything new and exciting they are making? I don't- seems as if lately my brain has been at a standstill. LOL.

Not much going on here......

had a couple of BIG orders, wholesale, from the web site, just before going to ebay live in New Orleans at the end of June.

I think at this point I am almost caught up with everything I've been working on since about mid march. Only thing left is some jewelry orders I got while I was at ebay live, from folks I hang out with online.

Only thing new I'm playing with, & that's just at the beginning stages, is I'm playing with some stuff to make solid air fresheners. Just wanted to add something new to the scented side of life, since crafts shows this year will be jewelry & scented stuff, focus more on the jewelry, less on the soap, since sales have been down.

Other then that, just reading & working on stuff for a holday shop I'm in. Have to deliver the stuff by the end of october. Have nothing done yet........

Sounds interesting- solid air fresheners. I am familiar with smelly jelly crystals, but I have seen solid gel like stuff in stores. Your jewelery must be selling well. I looked at it today and it sure is pretty. I wanted to see if you had any of the scented beads in anything, but I didn't see any.

Hmmmm, well, I have some of the larger containers and the hosta are new planteeeeees. So what I've done is put more than one hosta into those larger containers. I've teased out some looooong roots, and those hosta are the ones which wound up in the smaller diameter but deeper pots. As time goes by, I shall be removing the burgeoning hosta from the communal planting, and if I am lucky, they shall be the ones that go into the soil. I got one hosta, a Venusta, which arrived with one rather fat but single 3 inch long root. I was really worried about it, and put it in a small container. I babied it for about three weeks before I realized....it died. I could not believe someone had actually shipped me such a bad looking hosta. Live and learn. It wasn't the pot. I really don't have enough money to put all my hosta into containers that are "too big" for them. But I love large containers for large shrubs that will create some shade for my hosta. Perhaps by the time spring arrives, I'll have a few requiring new or larger pots. But I think not. If any come up smaller than they were when originally planted, I'm leaving them as they are. However, would you believe that in my pot moving this fall, I discovered some roots peeking out the bottom? Now, those dudes may have to be given deeper pots. It's going to be neat to see what happens, my first real spring with hosta EVERYWHERE. .....wheeeeeeeeeeee

I'm having a not-so-gourd day, so I started browsing around the boards to amuse myself. Instead, I frightened myself when I found this thread and a Kenny Rogers song started going through my head - and then I read that Eddie had the same reaction. It's quite frightening to think my mind works like Eddie's. (Hi, Eddie!) I wish I had a good excuse like Katie who has moved to a new home. Instead, it's the day-to-day grind that has me worn down. The car keeps breaking down, the fridge leaks water at random moments (well, not so random, it usually happens about 10 minutes AFTER you wanted to be in bed), my son went to Guatemala and brought home bronchitis for the whole family - you get the drift. I keep slogging away, but every time I turn around, another dam* tribble falls out of the cupboard at my feet. I've been involved in some volunteer work for a cause I strongly believe in, but lately the administrative issues have been outweighing the real issues, and I feel like I am wasting my time. I'm giving strong consideration to pulling in my horns, resigning from my volunteer job and refocusing. I saw an ad Saturday night for a "life coach"; maybe I need to hire one? Sometimes , things that we wouldnt even blink twice about with our own kids, become major irritants with stepkids. Most stepparents, whether they will admit it or not, are occasionaly guilty of the double standard, regarding their kids and their partners kids. Those of us who accept that the inclination and tendency exists to view the same action differently depending upon whether our birth kids, or our stepkids do it, are better able to guard against reacting to it, and thus have less tension over the little things. OCcasional lapses arent going to destroy things, but a lifestyle of different standards certainly will. About a month ago, husband and I were out shopping and came home to find one of my birth sons and his gf in our hot tub, eating bbq steaks that we had taken out for dinner ourselves . I could tell it bothered my hubby although he didnt say anything. Later, after the kids left, I asked him why he was bothered. My husband was wise enough to admit that it bugged him that my son and his gf just showed up, ate our food, and made themselves at home without us there....but he was also wise enough to realize that he knew it was his problem, it wasnt a big deal, and that he fully admitted that if it were HIS kids that did it, it wouldnt bother him at all. Even though both hubby and I dont sweat the small th ings, and even though we both try as much as we can to treat the others children like our own, and even though it doesnt really bother either of us if the kids come home anytime without letting us know, there are still times when one of the kids trigger a response that is probably just human nature, since they arent our birth kids. ITs not what they do, its how we react, or choose not to react to it, that counts.

A very original idea, indeed. Talk about recycling! Fill it up with mulch if you do not have enough leaves. I would also cover the bottom areas with mulch on the outside. In case the tent material jiggles when windy and lets wind inside thru the bottom. After a while, I would hope that snow would protect the same area though. But at first, mulch may have to keep the wind out. Just hope someone does not see the tent and wonders why your son is spending the night there on cold nights! Ha. ;o) Just kidding!

I've got to get more jewelry pics up. I have some fairy earrings & chandiler earrings that I have pics ready to go for, but I want to get a few more pieces done so I can have the web folks do all the changes at once....and I need to get some money together to PAY for the service to be done.....

Ebay live trashed the budget for now.

I only have a couple bracelets done with the scented beads. I'm hoping to make some this coming week, along with some stuff with pink rose quartz carved flower beads & pewter butterflies I just got from Hong Kong.
Keep checking & I'll have some more stuff asap-hopefully within about 2 weeks.....

I've been to busy trying to get some pictures & descriptions of the newest modular italian charms, & some household decor items I have for my ebay store, and I have some plus size clothes I need to get pictures of & get up there also.
Seems like I'm spending tons of time putting stuff in my ebay store. Hoping once I get what I want in it I can rotate stuff in & out for auctions with a minimum of trouble--it's just GETTING it in there that's time consuming

But I WILL be getting more stuff on the web site ASAP!
