Lye is going bye! bye!

Well today I tried 47 stores in the Area of Delware and Maryland. The stores all said that because of E.P.A. and becasue it was dangeorus that they would no longer cary it.
Some stores said they used to cary it but 3 years ago they stoped. Today 5/21/2006 The lady at Ace hardware told me that the Main ACE Corp. stopped shipping it to the smaller retail chain. Everyone was out of stock and wehn they went to look ,they all told me I'm sory sir but we don't cary anything like that anymore!. Lowes and Home Depo told me the same thing today. 1 person told me you can't even find it in the state of Delaware because the stores will no longer sell it here.

There are some suppliers online that sell it.

I was really getting into making soap using lye. I gave it as gifts to my family and everyone loves it. Now I can not find lye, I was told it is because the drug dealers use it in some drugs.
I have tried online and it is expensive. I did find out I could by lye at a chemical plant but you will have to buy a large amount and sign papers.
I don't really want that much but I may have to.Good Luck!!!

I'VE BEEN SEARCHING FOREVER, FINALLY FOUND IT AT LOWE'S, IT IS LABELED RATHER DIFFERENT, DOESN'T SHOW INGREDIENTS ON THE BOTTLE, BUT I GOT ONLINE WITH THE COMPANY AND FOUND OUT IT IS 100% SODIUM HYDROXIDE OR LYE. I JUST HOPE THEY KEEP CARRYING IT. $7.97
