My RC has at least doubled in size (width) since last year and seems to be doing equally as well HOWEVER since everything was so late this year and the spring was so cold, the first blooming just finished up and the second blooming hasn't even started yet, but buds are forming. rwl I find it odd your plants died unless they were really water-logged for a long period of time or unless they were planted in too much shade or a combo of the two. If mine could make through last summers drought and last winters cold temps with little snow cover early in the season, there must have been something terribly wrong with your plants from the start or they simply did not like your conditions. What kind of mold you use is really a matter of preference, metal, plastic etc. Or you can use things you have around the house like yogurt containers. The type of wick will depend on the type of wax, size of the candle or if it's a container candle. I'd suggest getting a few books on candle making and reading up on it more. There's nothing more frustrating than making a candle and not having it come out or burn right.

I'm a beekeeper and a soap maker. If you plan on keeping bees you won't be able to take honey and beeswax from them until the 2nd year. If someone is giving you the honey and beeswax you can use it after filtering and processing. Note: Too much honey will cause your soap to overheat and sometimes it oozes out of the soap, ruining the batch so it is best to use very little. Beeswax lip balms, creams and candles are great! There is a book on the market called "The Backyard Beekeeper" that has a few basic recipes for cream, lip balm, skin toner, and soap. Cost will depend on the cost of materials and your time. If you determine how much to charge based on someone elses calculations you may be losing money.

Hello! So I am trying to make candles for sale and am having issues with how they turn out. I am using paraffin wax that has a melting point of 126. I usually get it heated to around 130-150. At that point I put in the color blocks and mix and then take off the heat and mix in the fragrance oil. In addition to this, I heat the mason jars in the oven to prevent air bubbles and/or sinking in the middle of the candle. However, once the candles have cooled off for over 24 hours, there is discoloration and hundreds of bubbles throughout the candle. I will attach a photo to help illustrate this issue. Any advice on what could be causing this? I have made 6+ candles and having the same issue.
