I have been making soy candles for awhile and am still having problems with wicks. The centers of my candles have a hole instead of a full melt pool and some of the wicks have been breaking off. I use square mason jars. I don't have a problem with the smaller 4 oz jars.

Can you do a second pour to fill up the hole? Are you using a larger wick to compensate for the larger jar?

yes I have been doing a second pour or using a heat gun to even things out. The problem is after buring. Do you know what type of wick works best for this size jar?
