No mistake it is Pure Essentials on the label. I purchase Sothy's skin care products at this salon and did purchase the PE eye cream and PE pineapple facial scrub both pricy. I 'm a sucker to try any new product. Thought I could find reviews online just like anyother product but unable to. I know about the Downy/soap, etc but looks like this product doesn't even exist. I will ask the owner when I go back next week. She says all her customers love it just like Sothy's, but who knows, probably just a sale's pitch. Thanks and sorry about the double posting. I've been using the LaundryPure for over a year now, so I can toss in my two cents of actual experience. I find that my laundry comes out smelling just as clean and fresh as it ever did with soap. Some colors are more prone to running than others. So I still use color catchers, and wash my brightest stuff together. This is the same situation I had with laundry detergent. For really disgusting loads, I sometimes add a few drops of Miracle 2 soap - it feels good, psychologically, and is totally non-toxic. Stain-wise, I still occasionally need to pre-treat (and I also use Miracle 2 for that). I recently had the opportunity to wash a bloodied shirt and nearly all of it came out with just the laundry pure. A re-wash with some Miracle 2 spot-cleaner finished the job and got all the stains out. I imagine that other spot cleaners would work well, too. Sometimes I miss the artificial scent left behind with commercial cleaners. My husband misses those fake scents, too. I solved that problem by simply adding a few drops of essential oil to the wash cycle. I get to enjoy scented laundry the healthy way, now. I do not notice any static cling problems at all. My clothes have no soap residue, and do not suffer from excessive wear due to harsh soaps. I do not have to purchase special soaps or sprays (I use Miracle 2 for many other things around the house, so it is not an additional purchase in any way, and I only use it occasionally in the laundry). It is an excellent choice for people with chemical sensitivities - all laundry chemicals are eliminated from one's clothing, bed and bath linens. And I know I'm not adding unnecessary chemicals to the environment. And no more hauling of boxes and bottles of laundry detergents from store to home to recycling. It used to take me forever to get all the soap out of detergent bottles to make it ready for the recycle bin. What a waste of water and time THAT was! While the machine takes some energy, I no longer need to expend extra energy on hot water to achieve germ-control in my laundry. andy c, I really appreciate the maintenance tips. I like my machine so much, and you've given some great info to make sure I continue to enjoy it.

I find this thread discouraging. I started using Charlie's Soap due to recommendations on this forum, but the vehemence of the opinions here is hard to figure?! Does anyone consider why they have such strong opinions about laundry detergent? Or whether they feel these strongly worded comments are actually helpful to the forum? Clearly, some of the difference with results has to have something to do with the difference in water from one community to another. Hard water, soft water, heavily treated water have to make a big difference in how a detergent works. I have seen a few comments here that point out the basic reasoning that many people had in using Charlie's soap, but it bears repeating. Using a detergent that has fewer harsh chemicals and less negative effect on the environment and the water supply. And the second big reason was trying to escape the overabundance of products that cause reactions to the skin from who knows what ingredients. What I want to use as a laundry detergent, is a product that cleans clothes well but is made from natural ingredients that do not affect the water supply or the environment. And definitely, a product that rinses completely out of the clothes so that there is no residue to sit on the skin and either provoke a reaction or be absorbed into the body. It would be more helpful to me, to read comments from someone who actually knows and understands what is in these competing products and what affect they have on not just cleaning the clothes, but do they affect the environment and do they leave a residue that can cause a problem for the skin? And I'm also trying to avoid fragrances. I really dislike them across the board, unless they are natural fragrances, as in coming from essential oils or something. I don't wear perfume and I find it difficult to spend time in a room with someone who does wear it. Bottom line - this thread did not help me figure out which detergent is going to help me have the laundry experience I am looking for.

Good eye! You are right -- am seeing it now on a tablet on which I can super zoom in. Guess it further proves my point .... I'm sorry your kitchen soap dispenser has had issues; we've had one in our kitchen (for dish soap) for nine years and love it. We (and by "we" I mean my husband) feed the tube from the dispenser into a huge dish soap container (love you, Costco), so I envisioned doing the same in the bathroom, only into a huge liquid hand soap container (love you, Target). Thanks for your feedback.
