wax dipped bears

I started wax dipping bears a few months ago.My problem is my bears are not hard enough once they set, and all wax seems to lie thick on their bottoms to get this wax off I use the hair dryer but this makes the legs go soft can you help.

Are you using a votive/pillar wax or a container wax?

i also make the critters, i use a soy blend,, which i like so far...be sure you squeeze your bear all over to get the excess wax off and to prevent it from pooling in there "bottoms"
