Mintboxer, Where did you purchase Terminix All Clear Mister? It's pretty expensive. I don't think HD/Lowe's carry that. It's nice to know it works on sawflies. Thanks for the info. I tried to make 1 gal spray with a mosquito dunk for midge, it didn't work very well, but I did get a few rose buds on one cane out of a whole bush, but that's midge, which is very hard to kill. I know HD & Lowe's have Safer Brand Insect Killer soap for about $6.00/7.00, some of my friends from rose club use that for sawflies and other bugs. I think that's a organic spray, beacuse one of them who uses Safer Brand Insect Killer soap, she eats roses. :-) I use Bayer's Inects Killer this season, because I have midge issue in my rose garden. it does kill a lot of bugs inculding midge, sawflies, bad and good bugs.......I spray it right before dark, so it won't kill any honey bees. This season I also spray Bioneem (about $10 from Amazon), which is also a organic spray for bugs, I'm trying it out for midge issue, it works on sawflies too, but I think that's a strong spray for just sawflies. I spray that at night when the temperture is under 80. I'd say Safer Brand Insect Killer soap is the cheapest if you choose to spray. :-)

Many years ago they passed ordinances to retain original build in historic CO mining towns. Apparently this got pushed a bit with approval of additions and interior changes. These towns are so expensive to live in or stay that those who work there have specific buses allocated for transportation from outside of the area. Every inch of land in these towns and a home's sq ft are gold. Think revenue in taxes too. Those who go there would most likely not be up to a small victorian scheme, they want what we are seeing in the transformation. 'Tis their lifestyle and they are willing to pay for it. Not that I like what they have done. But the means to the end is money for the city, bringing in people, tourists, ect. The other end of the spectrum is what has been done to some of the mining towns by changing them into gambler's paradise. Original exterior, but tacky gambling mess. Income for the towns again. Guess they at least have the ability to retain them.

Thanks everyone. I'm still eating it.... I would call this a success, but I did learn some things for next time. At least use onion powder if I don't have an onion, and be a little more generous with the salt. I'm adding both of those each serving now, and it really helps. I'm glad other people wondered what coarse meal looks like, that made me smile :o) Sewhappy, thanks for the suggestion.... Plastic wrap is not my friend, and I think for me at least using it in that manner would be harder than cleaning the worktop surface of the portable dishwasher. I scraped the dough off with a plastic pan scraper, and then just brushed the loose stuff into the trash... so much easier than trying to wash with a sponge and getting a gluey mess everywhere! Duane, I agree. I have made things before (think pumpkin stuffed ravioli) that were not worth the effort to cook them, nor the clean up process. When I make something big, it is because I want to, I never force myself to.... sometimes I am very glad I did, and other times, even halfway through the process, I mutter, "why oh why" or "never again!" I hate finishing a project and thinking "Man, I should have bought that, it would have tasted better and saved me all this work!" Annie, you like every food, don't you? :o)

I've lived in 8 kitchens in the past 13 years. We're currently remodeling now, so when it's done, that'll be 9. So this info is from what I've expereinced overall, not my current kitchen. Ceramic floor tile grout. The tile itself doesn't show dirt, but the grout is another story. In my current house, the previous owners installed the tile to sell the house. I was pretty certain the grout hadn't been sealed, but I didn't do it when we moved in. It also has a couple of gouges from dropped cans or pots in a few tiles even though it's not quite 3 years old. Ceramic glass/radiant heat electric cooktop. UGH. Everything boiled over, then proceeded to cook to a hard gunk on the top. To clean, you have to get a razor blade to scrape up the mess. NEVER AGAIN! I second the person who said, if you have to go electric, go induction. My single induction unit has the same type top, but since the surface itself doesn't heat, it stays relatively clean. Anything on it just wipes away easily. For those trying to acheive that streak free shine on ceramic/glass, you can forget windex or anything of that ilk. Use Weiman's cooktop cleaner and the red scrubbies they sell at Walmart. Apply the cream with the red scrubby, allow to dry to a film, and wipe off with either a microfiber or plain ol' paper towel. The cream turns an icky greige color, but once it's been wiped off, the cook top really shines, at least until the next mealtime. Another stainless fridge hater here. Ooh, that's a strong word, I know. Well, I've got 4 kids, um, I mean, 3 kids and DH and between the lot of them they can't seem to wipe their drips from the in door water dispenser. Or use the handles even though they're huge and conveniently mounted right on the front of the doors. If I had the money, I'd definitely go paneled. Downdraft. It just doesn't capture as much as an overdraft, if that's the right term. So, it causes more grease to settle on cabinet doors, backsplashes and walls. Cabinets that don't reach the ceiling. They're huge dust collectors. I don't really like the display idea, and really can't abide the fake ivy. It's just a personal thing, please don't flame me if you like that look. I'm a bit worried about what others have said about polished granite. I got a bunch of it when I bought my kitchen display cabinets. I'd just assumed we'd use it. It's a dark-ish, spotty stone called Baltic Brown. It's not my favorite color but, I've never had granite before, so it was kind of an upgrade from the tile, laminate and BB I've had in the past. I'm wondering if I should just sell it on CL and get butcher block. I've had it once before and loved it. I'm defintely not a great housekeeper. I want something that can take a quick swipe and look half way decent.
