Linen Spray/Air Freshener

I am looking for a good linen spray. I have tried ready made base but it is not what I am looking for it is too slimey for me LOL I have heard about using Vodka or Everclear but can't seem to find a recipe. I would like to stay as close to natural as I can. Any ideas???

This is the body/linen spray that I make, you may have to adjust accordingly, for example some FO are cloudier than others and need a little more alcohol:

For a 4oz bottle - 1 Tablespoon Polysorbate 20, 1 Tablespoon FO, 1oz Everclear appox 3oz distilled water

I always start with the FO and Polysorbate (this emulsifys the water and oil) then I add the alcohol then the distilled water, I stir until completely blended then pour into bottle. You may want to not add full amount of water at first so you can see how cloudy the mixture is going to be, you can let it sit over night also and it will become clearer. I usually have to work with a little each time I try a new FO.

Mine are not always completely clear either, but I have my in aluminum bottles so you cannot see the finished product and I have tested on clothes etc and the mixture being cloudy does not effect linens etc.

I was very concerned about the amt of alcohol used as well. I even tried making without and the spray just smelled alot like faintly fragranced water. I have found adding the small amt of alcohol works well.

Add a tablespoon or two of water and stir the paint. Adding such a small amount should not affect the paint at all. I have never run a sprayer off a compressor, but your goal should be to have an even spray fan. That means when you pull the trigger, you don't want to see 'fingers' from one edge of the fan to the other. So, you just adjust the pressure up and down until you have a good fan going.

I asked my sister in law today what the scent of the one I am using is and she said it has patchouli notes. It is very light scented. If I was buying it I would go for the lemon scented one. The link I posted lists all the scents for the lampe berger. When the odour in this house became unbearable at times I simmered some cinnamon and a cut up apple in a pot on the stove and did that everyday. There is also another product you can get from a janitorial supply company, called Air Lift. I bought another product by the same company called Consume from a janitorial supply company that you water down into a spray bottle and it eats up anything biological and leaves a nice vanilla scent. You have to rinse or vacuum the area after letting the stuff do its job.

+1 on the fan. If it's not clearing the room quickly enough, it's also not clearing the room of humidity generated by showers, sinks, etc. And, IMHO, when it comes to air fresheners, too many people are of the persuasion that if "some is good, more is better, and too much is enough".

An air exchange is easy to accomplish. All that's required is incoming and outgoing air. If your basement is cooled or heated, open the supply side air ducts and turn on the HVAC fan only. Open the door to basement and place a fan at the door to draw stale air from basement while refreshing it with filtered air.

I just purchased a product called cyclomethicone, which is a dry oil you use as body/linen spray etc. Just add FO or EO bottle and sell does not get cloudy. Pretty neat stuff. Has anyone ever used it? So far I like it alot. No more buying Pure Grain etc. What a mess that was
