Quinn, I wrote to the owner yesterday..He replied saying he's been having problems with that site. He also asked which products I was interested in ordering. I wish I knew more about Eleanor's VF-11, then make a decision whether or not to buy it. Quinn, like I said, in the 90's I was a dedicated Logees customer. I still have quite a few of their plants. The only problem back then was their shipping prices. 7 plants for 11.00..But shipping costs didn't stop me from ordering either..lol Then, around 1999-2000, I placed an order. What a disappointment! First, they decreased pot sizes from 4" to 2 1/4"..but, worse, while reducing size, they increased prices AND shipping. I order quite a bit, and know what shipping costs should be. They went overboard. Still, as long as they sent decent plants I figured it was worth it..Then everything went downhill. I placed an order, including a variegated lemon tree..Quinn, the so-called citrus was no larger than 2" and was gone within days..soil was dry from its shipping ride, not wrapped properly. Still 2"!! Besides, it was an ungrafted seedling. They didn't mention that. For the price, I was expecting, at the least, a small but grafted citrus. There were other plants that were dead upon arrival..even ST couldn't save them. The last order included an Acalypha. A DEAD Acalypha. This time I phoned customer service. The woman was very nice, helpful. She must have read over previous orders because she said, 'I certainly will replace your plant, we don't want to lose you as a customer.' And she did..the second Acalypha was gorgeous. Why didn't they send the second plant in the first place? So, after $150+ later, I never again ordered from Logees. There are too many nurseries around that ship big, healthy plants. I admit, some have a tendency to up S&H, but considering prices and sizes of plants, (most 4"ers) it's worth it. I don't want to down Logees..Perhaps they're sending larger plants and packing securely..It's been years since my last order, so I can't say. As long as consumers are satisfied with their purchases, that's all that matters. Then again, two people on the Fragrant forum who recently ordered from Logees complained their plants were loaded with insects. Quinn, I'm not going to say I've never killed a plant, but if I receive a new plant that's dead or half-dead, I can't take the blame. Toni PS. That would be Texas Basket Co in Jacksonville, TX (www.texasbasket.com) - they manufacture every conceivable kind of wooden basket and crate for commercial displays of fruits, vegetables, flowers, etc. Minimum orders are small. I am looking for shallow, stackable plastic crates for tomatoes - TX Basket makes wooden ones - very attractive, but they aren't washable and won't hold up ($9.25 each!). I found the plastic ones, like WalMArt uses for tomatoes, on the web but they are available only in lots of 2000!! We have been transporting tomatoes to market in laundry baskets. Some people use bread trays - I can get those from a source in Georgia for $12 each plus freight (seems a little [pricey). People dig around in the laundry basket and do a lot of damage to the tomatoes and soft ones on the bottom are crushed, bruised and unsalable. We need a container with a single layer. Any suggestions? Jack Jack

I hope we will be done in a couple of weeks. It's hard to work all day and then come home and work all evening after dinner. And work all the weekend away. My gardens are a mess from the neglect! This room adjoins our kitchen which will be completely remodeled on 6/1. We decided to 'do something' about this room because it will look even more terrible next to the beautiful new kitchen. The mudroom is the only room in the house we hadn't done anything with. The wallpaper was from the 1960's. I'm more exhausted than excited lol. This is helping me keep my mind off the kitchen. Before I started this, I kept second guessing all those expensive decisions. I saved for 5 years for the kitchen. Getting the mudroom counter and sink is going to allow us to have a 'mini kitchen' for the month ours is out of commission. What's killing me is all the little things - outlet covers, baskets, hooks, decorations. I'm always so burned out when I get to the 'fun' part. SO what are your laundry room plans? Have you started yet? I'm in WNY and travel to Canada often. In fact, we picked our granite from a quarry in Hamilton.

I ordered the Blanco baskets (two sinks in Anthracite similar to yours) in stainless from Homeperfect. They feel much more well-made than the ones I had in my previous sink. It was confusing on the Blanco site to figure out which ones to order, so I contacted CS. It was very difficult to get a straight answer about which ones to order, but I finally got an answer: Blanco 441093 Decorative Basket Waste Strainer, which is the one you want if you do NOT have a disposal. If you do, you'll do best to ask first if you want Blanco. I really like the stainless in the black sink. The only problem I have with it is that occasionally something in the sink will push the basket down and close the seal when I don't want to fill the sink, but that may be a problem with any basket. I don't think there's anything else you need to get, just optional stuff like the grid. I don't have one yet and I don't think I miss it, but many who have it love it.
