I'm looking at my BM fandeck of Affinity paint colors, and I think your color is lovely.

What I might suggest is another BM color a great deal paler than your wall color.

First choice would be AF-25 PAPER MACHE.
Second choice would be AF-20 MASCARPONE.
Neither one has a gray tone, nor a pink tone to them.
At least, not by my lamplight. If you have a chance to compare them with your wall paint, I'd try them. Very light, but a definite color without "boxing" you in.

Ok, I am revisiting this thread after a few days, and now I see the picture of the living room.

With the can lighting on high, it sort of washes out the wall color of the HUSH, because it is a bit darker than the PAPER MACHE, and everything looks like PAPER MACHE or even MASCARPONE in the photograph.

I think that it would help a lot to put those ceiling lights on a dimmer, and use some additional lighting in the room which has more "mood" to it. Like the table lamp along the front wall. It might give the room a bit more depth, which I think is what you are looking for.

It is a really pretty room, great furniture, tasteful furnishings, and good flow to it. It might not be that the ceiling paint needs changing at all. Just moderate the amount of light....except of course when you are taking pictures to show us. :)

I think it looks great as is...going any darker on the ceilling would make the room seem smaller.

It looks beautiful as is. The lighter color ceiling balances out the lighter colors of the sofa, fireplace and drapes. A darker color would weigh it down.
