DIY kitchen inspiration

I thought all of you struggling with making a dark kitchen more bright and airy would like some ideas. See the link for a kitchen transformation which may give you some ideas...

I wish she had given more technical info about painting and how they replaced the sink and kept the countertop.

The domsjo is another overmount, so all they would have needed to do is to remove the old sink and trim the formica back to the edges of the cabinet and make the notches (you can see those in the installation pdf if you go to the ikea website and look for 'domsjo'), then set the new sink in place.

Actually, I should have mentioned that if you aren't using the ikea cabinet you would probably have to shore up the inside of the cabinet to support the weight. That big double domsjo is one heavy sink, even empty.
