The original writing was in French:
" Il semble que la perfection soit atteinte non quand il n'y a plus rien ajouter, mais quand il n'y a plus rien retrancher. "

Another English translation is:

...perfection is finally attained not when there is no longer anything to add, but when there is no longer anything to take away...

Somewhere I read that if the quote began with "It seems that", it would be a literal translation from French. I have no idea if that is true as French is an absolutely beautiful language to listen to, but that I know basically, nothing of.
Well, I know they speak it in France, and Quebec, much of Africa, and then there is Haiti, where they speak a form of French that those of us growing up in far far south Florida in the 1950's and 60's used to call "Oombly Woombly"....

Well, since I am neither "here" nor supposed to be anywhere else online this week, I gotta go.....
