I love my son : )

I had been looking for a Rohl farmhouse sink in my area and no luck. Which made me a bit crazy because this IS So. Ca. so why can't I find one without going the ebay route, or another online store hundreds of miles away. Well, I kept searching and found a plumbing place that carried them. And they had a location just down the street from where my son works in Huntington Beach. Bought the sink over the phone, son picked it up on his lunch hour and is bringing it back up to us tonight. What a sweetie. Got a great price, too. And no shipping!

I made my son one of his favorite meals, chicken enchilladas. He normally wouldn't be coming back up here to his home before Friday so I wanted to do something considering the traffic he's going to deal with. I told him to wait til the weekend but he insisted on bringing it up. I won't even be able to use the sink for months but needed it for cabinet measurements. Maybe I'll just put it on the counter and pretend to use it. : )

Kids are great, even though there are times you don't think you'll survive the teen years. Glad that's all behind me and he turned out so well. Now to find him a wife. ; )

Tis a wonderful part of our life seeing these kids grow up. They surprise us with big hearts when least expected. Enjoy the sink...a bit of envy here.

"He normally wouldn't be coming back up here to his home before Friday..."...but it sounds like it was the perfect 'excuse' to see his mom ;o) Enjoy the sink and the son!

Isn't it great to enjoy the friendship of our kids. Makes their visits all the better. Especially if they come bearing "sinks".

LOL! I knew you guys would understand.

The sink arrived safe and sound, and is temporarily residing on the laundry room floor. The thing weighs around 150 lbs. It's still in the box but we did check it out to be sure it wasn't cracked, etc. Not a chance - they really pack these sinks well. I'll take some pics later when my battery powers up on the camera. For now, I am doing a little demo in the kitchen. I got all the wallpaper down and started removing the baseboards and some other wood trim. Next is the old wood floor. And hubby emailed and said the slider and windows were in and would be delivered next week. Whoo Hoo! I love demolition!

You are so lucky your son lives fairly close. I'm jealous. Mine moved up to Coeur d'alene, Idaho almost 3 years ago. He came down for the first time last week. We live in South Orange County. But I still have my 2 girls.
