|
Thank you Lilod, Im a Mom and Grandmom.Had a great day. Hope you did too. Gertrudis

I did, DD Joann cooked dinner (and cleaned up afterward), I received a book called "Boonville" by Robert Mailer Anderson, this is a real place, although the book is a work of fiction - he says so, anyway. States that the real people are actually too quirky and I believe it, I am familiar with the place, close to where I live, think it's a cross between Twin Peaks and Northern Exposure LOL

my day was good too! talked to both my girls and we all wished each other "Happy Mothers Day!" A friend who usually marks occasions with florist gifts brought me two six packs of annuals (and was amazed at my pleasure LOL). the weather has changed and my new riding mower was delivered today. I am a happy woman. jc

You will love that riding mower! I have one, called "Mowses", don't know what I'd do without him. My land is not exactly flat and there are spots of a certain steepness that I will not tackle, but it certainly cuts mowing time.

oh Lilod! this is my third one and I do love it. I wore the first one out and the second one was stolen last winter. (good joke on the thief-- it was sitting in the yard because thats where it quit) I love to mow. I had never mowed a lawn except with a reel type push mower until I moved to this place about 12 years ago. It is really too rough for a "lawn" mower. I would love to have a little tractor if I could keep it running. jc

Hello jc, glad you got a new mower. My "George" lost his wheel again. Always the same wheel, must be a factory defect.Happens about every 3rd mowing. But what the heck,he can have a bad day too, once in a while.I'll fix him up again this weekend. My weekend off work.Need to mow, most likely the last time for the summer unless we get some rain.

Gertrudis (beautiful name!) what part of Texas are you in? Is mowing over because of dry weather? I bought a new riding mower partly because it is so relaxing to get out on it in the evening and it is good exercise for the dogs who follow me around the yard (at a good distance ~smile~). I keep the mower set high and mow often. funny. I am as excited about this purchase as most would be about a new car. jc

Hi jc, I'm in south texas. Like I said unless we get rain, mowing will be over 'til it rains again.I'm just mowing the weeds now and a few sprigs of grass.I have sheep and goats for the rest of the place, only have to mow around the house and the garden area. I have dogs too. The Pyr's are getting plenty of exercise with the sheep & goats. My two Schipperkees, I let them out in the House Yard. They are just so spoiled rotten.Female is pregnant and soooo moody. I call her my little devil. What kind of dogs do you have? I'm rambling and had better stop. I start talking about the dogs and can't stop. G.

ramble away! my two are just dogs (smile). I had a schipperkee and they are the finest little dogs. Pops was about 15 when I got him. Someone had tied him to a tree in a rescuers yard. He was happy here. He would sleep so sound that I could step over him two or three times when I came in before he would wake up. I have a new little dog from the pound. she is a joy! They had some Pyrenees puppies for sale near me but I worried that they might not be good in hot weather. Guess I was wrong if yours are happy in Texas. jc
