Vernonia, (Disclaimer here, this is based on my personal observations only!) Believe it or not, I would have to break it down by married vs. single for the most debt. Married women (or recently separated women) carry more revolving debt than single women. Single men carry more revolving debt than married men. Overall, if I had to break it down, sorry to say, the ladies have the worse track record for having credit card debt. That said, the ones I am really worried about are the folks that are cashing out the equity in their homes to payoff credit card debt, then do not destroy their credit cards....and rack them back up again. Bankruptcy laws are being changed, and it won't be long before these folks won't be able to walk away from their debt and will be forced into a restructure of debt. In this case, rightfully so. It's the families with the medical catastrophe that will never be able to recover, which is sad. (sorry, leaving soapbox now). Suz

Hmmm, so I fuss over "girl" AND "guy" stuff. When it came time to have our electrical box upgraded from the old 100 amp service to the 200 amp service...I was the one asking the questions to the electrician. When our electrician was here this weekend to replace an old light switch that sizzled and fried (littlerally...black smoke coming out and everything!), I was right there, asking him about it. And I LOVE that he explained it to me as a human and not as "okay, little lady, here's what's up with it." When we were getting ready to build a house a few years ago...it was me that fussed over the dual zone heating. And me that fussed over the geothermal heat pump. And me that was asking about the relative advantages and disadvantages of Superior Walls vs. standard foundations. My husband came along for the ride on most of that. In our house, in many cases, I do the research (be it "male" or "female" based. Narrow down the choices to what I find acceptable. Present findings to DH and then we work on finding a decision. But, me, heck yeah, I'm going to be SO excited (seriously!) when it comes time for us to have the HVAC people in to replace our old furnace. But, I'm a little odd like that.

Chisue, I disagree that the women in these ads are being made objects. There are other reasons for impotence than low T. The little blue pill and the one that you are talking about are both vasodilators, not testosterone boosters. There are lots of underlying conditions that cause men (and couples) turn to these meds in order to regain a normal, healthy sex life. Cancer, diabetes, many different medications, smoking, age, and high blood pressure are just a few that I know of. We have some dear friends who were desperate for help in this department due a health issue with the husband. She made him see a doctor together and both are as happy as puppies now that the problem has been helped. They are in their mid fifties. I also have a member of my extended family who was successfully treated for testicular cancer; his doctor sat down with him and his wife to have the birds and the bees talk. They're using the one you're talking about, better known for those two outdoor bathtubs. They are in their sixties. If these meds are successful, one of the beneficiaries is the other half, some would say 'the better half '. I doubt that they feel like objects. A good point of contension is that commercials for these and male enhancement products run when youngsters are home and watching.

Faron - I start my Stihl on the floor by sliding my foot through the handle to help keep it steady. However I'm unable to start our generator - the pull cord is too high up and I can't get enough torque - I'd need a stepladder. My profession was dominated by women and I can readily say that I never faced discrimination at work. Of course like most women I've encountered my share of men making crude comments and insinuations and as a young woman was never taken seriously when I took my car in for repair. And there were a few alarming situations where I seriously worried about my safety. When DD was growing up I tried to set an example for her, I felt it was important for her to see me as a capable woman. I wanted her to be strong and independent . When she graduated from college we went to buy her first car. I had already locked in the price online and brought a copy of the sales agreement. However the salesman kept saying that certain items were omitted and he wanted to re-write the agreement and came back with a higher price. I walked out of the dealership. DD was crushed because she thought she wasn't going to get her car. The salesman came running after us and we did get the car - at the original price. It's a story she vividly remembers. However she is now working in a male dominated job and is facing discrimination, ridicule and even career sabotage. There is no HR department, she has to take these issues to her boss - who frequently says that she's whining and then later approaches her when she's alone and rubs her back and says he's sorry. The only other females at her work place are doing clerical or administrative work and are off premises. She's the only woman working on the job with 6 to 8 men. It has become a toxic work environment and she has consulted with an attorney as to how to proceed. I'm proud of her for taking the initiative to get legal advice but she's so disillusioned and stressed that she's also looking for another job.
