Is this a red flag, or just weird?

I sent a rather open invitation to someone I'd met and gone out with once to join me for an Arts Walk and parade in a nearby town. He sounded enthusiastic, he wanted to see me again.

He called me last night, and said he really didn't want to do the Arts Walk, just the parade, so he would meet me there. So, instead of having company, I'll be doing the Arts Walk by myself......doesn't that sound like fun??? But, first, could I call him around noon to WAKE HIM UP! I think he thinks I'm his mom.

I said I would, but now I'm rethinking this whole thing.

He's 42 and never been married.

What do you think?

Kidding aside - I think your red flags are well deserved. He does sound like a mommas boy. Call and wake him up? Pleezee...

I agree - the walk part together with someone is half the fun!

Find a girlfriend to go with. I bet you'll have a much better time.

Wierd and red-flag...42-year-old with social acumen of 13. How're you going to have any fun with that?

Bon, I imagine that rumor is true. I heard that Oklahoma County sent a Task Force to help them, at the request of the Logan County emergency management people. County Task Forces usually pull 1 truck each, along with personnel to man that truck, from various departments within a specific county. That allows a county to send some help without stripping them entirely of personnel and trucks they may need to fight fires in their own county. There have been and still are many fires today, but that one just may be the worst one in terms of the struggle to contain it. I hope everyone stays safe and that no further structures are lost. Our wind speed here has really dropped in the last hour and I hope the wind speeds in the rest of the state are dropping as well. Dawn

It's like the whole area is turning into the West. :( We've been on a burn ban here too for awhile, had to cancel our company BBQ last weekend (I was grateful, 108F is too much for me) and our town is surrounded by dead corn. It's kind of scary to think it would only take one bitter, angry person to just flash fry the area.

I definitely believe that the purpose of this forum is to point out possible downsides and offer alternatives for you to consider, then allow you decide which will work for you. We only want you happy with your kitchen in the end without having to ask, "Why didn't someone tell me?" That said, I feel I have to throw in one more post, because it would be such a major problem for me to have the cleanup and cooking zones overlap and criss-cross. I do like your original plan best, except for that issue. You said the kids don't usually clear the dishwasher while you cook, but I wonder why you'd want to limit that option if you can avoid it, and also wonder if they don't set the table while you cook. It seems so easy to me to swap the dish storage and fridge, and have the dw on the table end, which would separate your zones. You are trying to keep the fridge by the table, but that makes 3 cooling units in easy reach from the table. After working in zones for 10 months now, I can tell you that it's SO wonderful...So I had to give it one more push. ;-) I hate regrets and 2nd guessing, so work to help others avoid them, too. Best wishes. These are to show potential work paths. The first one has X's where people will stand or take up space. In the 2nd I moved the frig once more to give a more open corner by the stove.

Weird? or Wonderful? Dark red room, dark red loveseat?

Ohhh...Flamingo and Alisande, I'm in big trouble! I have found the perfect color and texture match, in a red loveseat. It could completely disappear. LOL It's leather, but not the smooth, glossy leather. It's soft and "nubbly." Flamey, I originally bought the purple loveseat to go in the sage-green (Key Lime Pie) living room on base. The two colors are perfect together but it's the "wrong" purple to go with the "Lilac Vapor" sewing room. Even so, I had to use that particular shade of paint. So...the living room here is going to be KLP-sage too, and the purple loveseat will stay in its original spot. I'm going back to the furniture store today to see if I can borrow a cushion or something to play with the colors against these walls. I plan on using a large oriental-type carpet in here. Big enough to take care of noise, but I'll still have a lot of the floor showing. Harry has been floor-surfing ever since we removed the heavy paper. He runs down the hallway, braces himself, and s-l-i-d-e-s into each of the rooms. He's learned to keep his legs stiff and lean to "steer" his direction. He thinks it's great fun. We figure the soon he scratches the floors the better. Lydia, I'm considering a red-beige print, too. DH wants a mission-style dark wood and leather. That's nice, but it's not "me." I've not ruled that out either, since it is more his room than mine. And it means I'd get free reign in the livingroom!

OMG...he called my cell while I was on the WAY and said he wasn't going to make it.

Then, he called when I was on the way home, and asked if I wanted to see a movie. OK, well, I was driving right by there, and what the heck..I wanted to see the movie. I waited 10 minutes AFTER the movie started, and freakin left. I called him when I got home...and he was still at home! He wanted to know if I wanted to see a later movie, and I said NO...I was DONE.
And, I AM.

Good for you Jean. Had enough of his antics and being jerked around. There are nice and respectful guys out there. Regardless of this is a guy or girl, it's still disrespectful of you and your time.

I have learned that the guys who have never been married need to be left that way .............there are reasons, and on the way to learning that, you might have to go through some very painful lessons. I certainnly have. Good job, Jean!!!!!!!

I would have done the arts walk just to keep you company.... that said, I find it sexy to get a wake-up call from my GF. It's the next best thing to waking up with her beside me.
