Wanted to keep WalksAlone's great idea for a thread title going since it made it to 100 in a short period of time....tell us about your day, no matter how boring or mundane that you think it may have been....sometimes it's just nice to vent to the computer screen...
My day was rather quiet, spent a couple hours talking to a friend in Arizona on the phone and kicking back and watching a DVD tonight....how was your day?

RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Had a great day... last night was pretty darn good too!

Spent a lot of time with Colorado guy...if only online.
Had three nephews stay over to give their parents an "adult" night out. Reached my first "goal" in my quest for a skinnier body! Lost 25 1/2 lbs. so far...

Having a combo Tupperware and Tastefully Simple party tomorrow...

Think I'll sleep in on Monday...

Barbara_Tampa

P.S. Happy Valentine's Day to all... Tinmantu - thanks for the email... what a lovely surprise!

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Thanks for starting part two, Mike.

Walks, I've been thinking about you and your cat. It is a feeling I know all too well. I've got two fuzzy girls, one who I've been tending with renal failure since April, when I almost lost her. She's doing great now! I'll send some of my (non-theistic) prayers your, and her, way.

Barbara, you are an inspiration! How are you doing it? I don't remember if you said you are on a particular program. I'm trying to shed my extra "winter weight", get my butt to the gym and made a vow to not buy any more ice cream. Of course, I will eat the valentines chocolates, but no more after that. ;-)

I had a nice day yesterday, the new man came over for lunch, a spread of cheese, bread, melba, guacamole, etc. We lingered for a few hours and then I took him to a friend's party. He's pretty comfortable and independent in social situations, which is a nice thing to have in a SO. Then, we picked up his dog from his place and back to my place for reading and sleep.

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

I had a fun day yesterday. My younger son and his sleep over friend from next door woke me up at 3 a.m. because they wanted to go out and play in the snow. I made them wait until dawn and then we played outside until they got too cold. Snow around Austin, Texas is a very rare thing. On the news yesterday they showed people all over town up at 7 a.m. on a Saturday morning "sledding" down hills on cardboard and just playing around in the snow. The snow melted by noon and the sun came out for the first time in several days. I was inspired by someone's surprise email to send a few valentine's emails out. It was my first valentine's day without some kind of SO for as far back as I can remember and I survived!

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Wow, snow in Austin?....that is a bit rare....Wasn't it fun sending those cards out, Char?....The first year is always the toughest as far as the holidays go, it's just a matter of absorbing yourself in your kids and thinking of others and the lonesome feeling is gone...thank you for sending me a card.

Berain you are very welcome and congrats on your loss (that's weird to type, but you know what I mean...heh)

Glad to see that you had a great day yesterday Carrie, sounds like this guy might be a keeper. Starting this thread was a no-brainer...especially since Walks took the time to give me a "gentle" nudge last night with her multiple posting to close hers, heh....I'll find a way to rattle her chain before it's all said and done. ;)

Cold and overcast here today, going to pay a few bills and stay in where it's warm. Come onnnnnn springtime.

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Have no chains to rattle, except when it comes to my animals. LOL! Just try.

Love the title to part tu!

I am so glad to see everyone meeting their goals in every way.

Do you think, it is plan, act, and then you will succeed in all things? A thought for today.

My kitcat is home from the vet. What I already knew, but took them 24 hours, is she has a bladder infection. Liquid antibotics. Cant wait to clean it off the cabinets and ceiling. Yikes! And I already survived yet another cat bath. Love those sample bottles of Herbal Essence!

I guess now I am in a cleaning mood, other than smelley cats.

See ya later.

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Aww, I bet I can come up with something, Walks....everyone has a chain to be rattled....I like a challenge, though...thanks for the dare.

I thought you might enjoy the part tu....I considered throwing a 6 in there but I wasn't out to rattle your chain that much.......yet

Glad to see your cat is home with you...too bad we can't get them to drink cranberry juice for those kinds of infections too.
Been doing some cooking today but I'll post that on the cook for yourself thread.

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Tasting party was waaay too much fun today... although my feet are tired... Combo party with Tastefully Simple and Tupperware... just nibbled all day.

Diet is with use of Phentermine... don't think I can be on it more than 3 months... I don't get a lot of sleep but boy do I get things done around the house!

I get to sleep in tomorrow... who else has the day off?

Barbara_Tampa

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

I'm off today, Barbara. And I do love a day off! I'm going to catch a 10am yoga class, which is a luxury during the week.

The Tastefully Simple party sounds fun. I really need to expand my cooking horizons - on a simple scale. I need healthy, mostly vegetarian and EASY recipes!

WA, welcome home to your kitty, those overnight stays are tough - on us and on them. I admire your ability to bathe a creature with so many sharp teeth and claws!

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

I am home with a drunk kitty. I want to laugh but dont dare. I took my other cat, a male in for teeth cleaning. I need to record his growls. I would never enter a house hearing that! Yet, I am still intact.

other kitty is due for yet another bath.

My life today. I did buy some things for the house, but I really need clothes. I hate to shop!

We have a MIA.

Where is Jessiecarol???

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

I finalized a job today that's been dragging me out of town for months now....time for a little relaxation (heck, I might even get my cat drunk (poke))...at least until the next challenge starts....had a chance tonight to chat with a previous TSL poster that hasn't been around for few months and I thoroughly enjoyed our conversation ....hopefully she will choose to jump back in and help keep this place moving :)

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Good morning! glorious morning here. Little dog met me at the drive and we slipped away for a walk before I even went inside the house. It is nearly 40 degrees and still. Temperature is supposed to drop today, I think.

I thought I posted last night. Guess I did not hit the submit button. Thank you for noting my absence, Walks ~smile~ I am happily workng every day and pretty much a zombie at home. I have composed some amazing nursery orders. If the work holds, I will send them off.

Walks, I have become so used to buying things online that being in a department store drives me to distraction. Are you shopping for career wear? White shirts, black slacks, cardigans and loafers cover me for work (~laughing~literally! ha ha) , but I find some amazing things online for when I am home.

CarrieB, wish I could have gone to yoga with you. Glad you all enjoyed your day off. I am still researching the lasik thing, so I would love to have an update on that. It was good to see Judith on another thread here. I hope she will come and tell us about her day. She is almost a neighbor. Hope your friend will join us, tinman.

Well, as you can most probably tell, I am wired, so I best run through the house and do a little before I crash.

love, ;-)

jc

RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Hi Jessiecarole and everyone. My days aren't very exciting. Nothing special on Valentines Day and today, just a doctor appointment in the morning and working the rest of the afternoon. I'm looking forward to warmer weather and today is pretty nice.

I hope you all have a wonderful day. Judith

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Just another day. Waiting for the numbeness to wear off, so I can eat dinner. I went to the dentist today. I am a little excited. I am going to do at least two veneers. My front teeth are slightly crossed. I have always disliked. And now I will correct. Although, at my own expense

Judith, glad you are here. It is the reason for the thread. I did this today, hi how are you, and life goes on, but sometimes we need to talk... Keep joining in.

I guess I shouldnt ask and just do it. What about a thread about, how important is the smile? Okay, another, is thoughts or quotes for the day?

Hi, JC, Carrie, Barbara, Judith, and Tinmantu. :)

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

IMHO... nothing improves one's outlook than when they are confident with their smile... I always said that the $1500 my parents spent eons ago on braces was the best money they spent on me.

Congrats Walksalone.

Barbara_Tampa

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Hi to all and welcome Judith....Good idea on the quote of the day thread,Walks!....I'll give you 24 hrs to get one started, then I'll instigate one as I have a few favorites.
Congrats on going in and taking care of something that makes you feel better about yourself....I'll just add that we all have physical things that we would like to change about ourselves that we are bothered by and a person would be amazed that most other people never even notice the flaws that we see in the mirror. Those that make those judgements based on the outside, their opinion really doesn't matter (in my eyes, anyway).....ooops, I should have saved that for the quotes thread that YOU are going to start... :)

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

I was hoping someone would start a quote of the day. I was too chicken. I have one of those calendars that has a quote for the day and sometimes I would like to share a funny or interesting one. WalksAlone good for you for getting the dental work. I have been trying for years to get some old bonding replaced with veneers on my front teeth. Everytime I work up the courage and try a new dentist they insist that there is thousands of dollars worth of dental work they need to do before doing what I want done. Funny how I haven't had any of it done except cleaning and have no trouble except wanting a nice smile! Maybe I'll try again this year. ;0)

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Timnantu, you do have a way with words. It is a slight flaw, except what I didnt say, my front tooth has been chipped half way off. Not through sports, LOL, mostly gardeniing. Two repairs. I believe resin was used to bond the tooth. And because of my love of coffee and tea is permanently discoloured. Cannot be bleached. It is very noticeable and I hate to smile. The same process to fix it would be the same as the veneer. So I am going down that road. Otherwise, I could live with it. I am not taking any offense to what you said, yes, I have many flaws, and unless I pointed them out, it would not be noticed. You are right. Another subject to start?
I just will post any ideas I have here for a topic. I am thinking out loud! Go ahead, if you like it. There is times here something is said and it is worth discussing. But it will get lost.

^Hi, Chargreen! %Glad you liked t6he idea. Please jump in.

Ok, suggestion, do we date the quotes, like once a day, week, I think month is too long.

Like, tomorrow, 2/19/04-quote, or however creative you would like?

Thanks, Berain for starting us off!

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

I'm glad that no offense was taken Walks because none was intended, trust me....I can understand wanting to have a chipped tooth repaired, and again congrats for going and getting it done....I'll consider the flaw idea for a thread but I have a hunch that most don't like to talk about their flaws, heh....you keep posting ideas and I'll start them if they sound like keepers....Barbara beat me to the last one, dangit (just teasing Barb)........A beautiful day in Kansas today...70 degrees and was off work at 3, went to the lake for a hike....next time I will remember to take the camera and set up a page where pics can be posted by all of their pets, themselves or where they live...any comments on taking the time to do something like that?

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Sigh, I dont have a camera, or a real computer at home. Otherwise, I would deluge you with pictures of my beauuuutiiifulll cats. However, I love to see pics of scenery, since I havent been to Ohio, or I would love to see anyone's pets. Post away.

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Well someone else will have to do Ohio pics for you Walks...one of the few states I have never been to, but I'll look into setting up a multi-member photo posting site....not sure that we can post pictures on this one..anyone know about that?

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Right now? My day stinks!

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Sorry, Tinmantu. I dont know why I had thought you were from Ohio. It would be great to see Kansas!

I dont know about photosites. Alot of forums have "Gallerys" to post photos. Maybe we should ask webmaster for one? Usually done thru the Suggestions and Comments on Gardenweb side.

Berain, get back here! What is wrong? Please vent, we will listen.

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

I'll have some time time this weekend to look into the photo options and see what I can come up with...not sure if Spike wants to use up too much server space on photos as it can become costly if it's allowed on all groups.
Berain, don't leave us hanging...let us know why your day stinks. We all have them and can relate.

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Made the big decision over the weekend to go strictly cellular...I need my cell a lot more than I need a land line and paying both is ridiculous, IMO....Internet went down here yesterday p.m. and just now got back up....didn't know how much I missed my online puzzles and checking out TSL...lol

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Let us know how you like the change, tinman. I am toying with the idea myself since I could keep my old phone number.

I am happy working and don't have much to say. I wish Candler would check in. He had some family and health problems and just disappeared. Wish I had kept his address.

Do you all think the spam is getting worse? I love to shop online but I think it really generates spam. Is this true? I am too lazy to try and keep up with more than one address/user. I am thinking of filling up my email for a week or two. Someone told me that would help. I live alone, so there is no one to offend but me. I am just tired of it. It must be difficult for people who have children at home.

the days are getting longer!

rambling on

jc

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Day 6 of living wireless and I have no comlaints...my brother has been doing this for about year now and it's just a matter of letting people know that you can't hang on the line just to gab during daytime hours...heh...I have 5000 min. nights and weekends and use them mostly...I seldom get over a 1000 and it's almost all long distance so it works for me.

jc, this won't stop the spam, but allows you to blacklist it and keep it from coming in before you download it...basically you run this program before you ever open your usual email program...I have the registered version, but the free version does most of the same thing....by blacklisting, you are 'bouncing' back to the sender that no such person exists. It doesn't always work because 50 percent of spammers are using a false email address anyway but I have seen mine go down since I started using it.
Yes the days are getting longer and I'm loving every minute of it...time to barbeque!!

RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

^Hello. W6here did we all 5go? My keyboard died. Wa6hsed it and new batteries. It doesnt fix all t6he problems, as you see. I am not editin5g! Orderin5g a new one from t6he internet.

Spring thunderstorms 6here for Ok the next two days. Love t6he rain, hate the wind damage. I have an arborist trim my red maple every spring, si5gh, maybe to late this year.

Lots of bank robberies around, one at my office complex.

So, where is all?/

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Oh Walks! bummer about your keyboard. I have one of the huge PM ones and fear the day when it dies. It seems webtv is on the downswing. They are no longer making the plus units and many internet sites have moved on and left us. I guess that things have to change so that people will be inspired to buy/upgrade their equipment. ~sigh~ Webtv was perfect and so most likely cut into the "buy more/better" market.

I have been in the yard this week. I have been dividing daylillies and cleaning up beds. I ordered cleome seeds to cover a well composted, naked spot under a brush pile I am planning to move. We will have more winter, but this week it has been glorious to be outdoors.

tinman, I do not have a computer. I do get tired of spam, especially the porn, but I guess it is part of the process. I could just turn the thing off.

still working lots and liking it

jc

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Dang Walks, hope you get your keyboard replaced soon...if not, keep posting and I'll translate ;) .....jc, didn't realize you had webTV and have never even been around one of those critters to offer advise...just assumed you had a computer.....glad you are enjoying the working and don't forget to drop in now and then. :)

 o
also wanted to add

Also wanted to add....What happened to Berain?......the last message I saw from her was she was having a bad day and no messages since...Hope she is doing ok. Maybe she is like Carrie and the single life is the past...heh

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Just got in from work and getting ready to leave again for the weekend. The house is covered with good red tennessee clay. We have had rain for a couple of days straight and the dogs have tracked in and out....... I will leave it until I get back Monday and spend this time finishing some work in the yard. The dogs only come into one room, but it is the room I spend the most time in ~sigh~ I am ready for spring. This has been a winter of other people's overheated houses, where they sit and incubate the virus of the day. If you see a woman on the news being carried from a house screaming "why don't you open a bleeping window???", that will be me. ~grin~

we do need to hear from berain, and CarrieB, I think it is only fair that you come back and tell us how its going.

I am going to get up and go outside. You all have a good weekend.

jc

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Beautiful day 6here. %Goin5g to work in t6he yard. See ya a5gain soon.

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Please allow me to attempt to translate Walks' above message...

"Still waiting on my ******* keyboard to get here...Grrr..This POS only works for a couple of **** minutes the it takes a ****...Can't wait till the new one shows up so I can throw this ******* out the window. LOL

Beautiful day here and am off to pick up keyboard pieces out of the yard. See you again soon."

I think I came close anyway :).....hope you are all having a great weekend...supposed to get to 60 something here today...off to play

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

ROFLOL!!!! You 5got it, Tinmantu! Out to 6hack and bury t6he Keyboard and also a vacuum cleaner. Cant wait to tell t6hat story.

JC, 6how lon5g does it take for plastic to compost???

Out to t6he yard I 5go!

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Guess what the mailman brought me? Testing, one, two, three? It all works! She bangs, she bangs. LOL. I am so excited. (Donna Summers?) I am so excited.

See ya later!!! Got to leave a good feedback on e-bay!

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Was just getting ready to head to the lake and looked in before I headed out...way to go, Walks....be sure and type in "the quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dogs" to test all the keys....I can't guarantee that I will always be around to translate for you :)

 o
Also

Also, I expect to see a lot more posting by you now, too...heh

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

The quick brown fox jumped over the fat lazy cats...

Have a good day all!!!

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Looks like you have it fixed, Walks....the onus is on you to start the next "How was your day" thread now...heh...throw a 6 in there somewhere just for me, though.... pleeeease?

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Just came to vent. I lost a key in the yard. It was in my pocket. No holes. It is gone. What do I do? Change the locks again?

I will rake the yard tomorrow. Sigh. I cannot believe, I did this. I know noone will find it, my lawnmower will.

Do you ever have those moments? Just damn!!!!

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Well, I found my key. It was at the place I first bent over to pull weeds.

What do you do as a single person with keys? I am so afraid of accidently locking myself out. No one else has a key to my house or car, and not anyone close enough location wise. I could bury a key in an obscure place, but after a gas leak last year, and seeing how much of my yard was dug up. Any advice?

Today is another beautiful day. Taxes, bills, and housework....or outside in the sunshine. Wonder which will win!

Wishing all a great day!

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Hi Walks....glad you found your key...I have one of those magnetic key boxes on my vehicle with house and car key in it.....I learned the hard way about entrusting my key to supposedly trustworthy family years ago....never needed to use it but it's nice to know it's there.

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

I leave the key in the car (not in the ignition, on the seat, so I can sneak off from the dogs) and I never lock my house. Don't have a key. It is a risky life and I don't reccomend it, but it works for me. To further expand on my strangeness ~smile~ I do not like sleeping in a room with only one entrance. I am most comfortable if I know that if someone comes in one door, I can slip out the other. In the summer, I want the doors and windows open. Being "locked in" is unsettling to me.

Glad you found your key, Walks. I DO hate to lose things in the yard.

When I came in from work this morning, I noticed that the grass was greening and the trees budding red. WooHoo!

jc

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

JC, green grass is a sign of the time to bring out the lawnmower! Love and hate it.

I could not sleep with a door or window open. Even when the a/c goes out. I do not sleep in the main or master bedroom of the house, for some of your reasons. It is at the dead end of a hallway at the back of the house. I feel peculiar because of it.

I am so glad tomorrow is FRIDAY!!!

For Tinmantu, Y%eah5, t%5ommorow&, is5, Fr55id6ay%!

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

I have news of a "missing" friend.

Here is a link that might be useful: hope this works

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Thanks for the link, jc....glad to hear that Carrie is ok. Pass along our concerns in case she doesn't drop in here.. (now all we need is for berain to check in.. was glad to see Char look in last week as I was wondering about her also and forgot to mention her name)....Walks, I love when you talk dirty to me...hehe.....been an extremely long week here and I am glad it's friday myself....My boss is leaving to take a 4-H group on a ski trip for the next few days and I'm on call till Wed. Hope that not too many furnaces break down as I have a few chores to accomplish before a truckload of family comes in next weekend for my moms 85th birthday.
I have to go out tomorrow and buy a new screen door as the wonderful Kansas winds literally destroyed mine a couple days ago. No glass in the eyes but I got a head full...grrrr.

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Thanks, JC. Left a message for her on that thread.

And by the way, do you need a talking to? Hmmmmm??? Short breaks only are permitted, did you not see that in the agreement?

I have seen berain on another forum. Hopefully, she will check in and it was only a bad work day.

Wow, Tinmantu, alot on your plate. How much family are you hosting and feeding? Sounds great. Your mother lives in same town? What an accomplishment, 85! Happy Birthday to your mom!

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Yeah, mom lives in the same town...I grew up here and decided to raise my daughter here since I didn't come out bad (well, not too bad anyway...heh)
Personally hosting in my house for meals and sleeping arrangements for 2 nights will be 5 people (no problemo)....all told family coming in is going to be 25 or so and no one has a plan on meals yet (as usual)....they think we will just go to a restaraunt and it will be a piece of cake...heh....anyone ever heard of reservations?...I gave up fretting over it, let them all go "what do we do now?" when they find there is no room at the inn. No one asked me, so I'll let them figure it out.
My worst concern is getting screen door replaced and the cat poop raked out of my horseshoe pits in time for the company.

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

No promblemo! I would have to stock what I usually dont keep, breakfast goods, lunch, to me is yuck. Good luck. The Cooking forum is good, has lots of ideas, and look at the Recipe Exchange. You could do a roast and turn it into soft or hard tacos. Do you have a crock pot?

They may not plan ahead, but for your sanity, do so.

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

I have a chest freezer and always keep it well stocked...when I go to the store I always buy more than I need, it seems.....the cooking forum is a good one and most likely I could contribute to it also as I consider myself a pretty decent cook.....I'm looking out for the 5 that are staying here first though.....nothing a big pan of Tinmans Meatloaf and hashbrowns and scrambled eggs and sausage can't take care of.....I have been around this family for 45 years now, sanity is out of the question :)

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Sanity is highly over rated, Tinman. I bet your mama is going to have a wonderful time!

Walks, I was thinking of cutting myself loose from this thing because I need to change banks, it's time to renew here at GW, spring is coming, and I have developed a terrible habit of "shopping" online. But I would miss it. I love to look things up. ~grin~ And I would miss everyone here. I have been online for just over two years and there doesn't seem to be a way for me to be on it just a little. I am still thinking, but every few years or so, I like to start doing things a little different. Keeps life fresh.

I need to get up and get to the weekend job. See you all Monday.

jc

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

I want to add my get well wishes for CarrieB. I haven't been at the computer at home much as the "hot rod" computer is now up and running and I'm still trying to learn all of the new super duper improvements that I paid for! Also my teenage son's Father (the nicest word I can use for him) reappeared last weekend and took him to spend the weekend. I spent most of last weekend worrying and this week being upset with myself for letting him making me worry. This weekend will be for relaxing!

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Well, I am impressed. A man that can make meatloaf! Yum! Sounds like you are ready, Tinmantu.

JC, are you going to disconnect from the internet, ie, cancel, webtv, or just the subscription to GW/THS? You can still post to the non paying forums. For me, I have choosen this over cable or satellite. I wished I had a shopping gene!

Chargreen, wishing you a relaxing weekend. Join in often.

And CarrieB, again, wishing you healing thoughts and a quick recovery.

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Walks, I make a lot more than meatloaf....every bachelor should know how to do that....but does every bachelor know how to do butterfly chops stuffed with broccoli and cheese?...heh....that's what I had for dinner tonight...very good and don't tell my company that I know how to do that, please... :)
Char, glad to see you made it back...hope you get that new computer figured out and we get to see more of you around here...sounds like you are ready for a relaxing weekend after the last week ...enjoy!!
Last but not least, jc....you better not ditch out on us!!..If it's just left up to Walks to keep me in line, who knows what might happen...and it will be all on you! ...Cut up the credit card and half the internet problem is solved..heh...hope you stick around...I enjoy your posts.
Thanks Walks and jc for the well wishes regarding moms B-day....I just hope I am as rambunctious as she is when I am 85 ;)

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Goodnight all. Except, now I am hungry. Meatloaf, butterfly chops with brocoli and cheese........gotta go to the store.

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

LOL....nite Walks

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Good Afternoon, what are you doing?

I am paying bills, doing taxes, and laundry. Exciting!

Don't most people think as you are single, that you are out, kicking up your heels, having a good time and they aren't?

RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Well I got called out today....turned out to be an older lady with just a pilot out and had to clean it up a bit....took a whole 15 minutes but she invited me for coffee and cookies and we ended up chatting for almost an hour (no, I wasn't on the clock for the coffee and the chat and I won't even tell the boss about it...call it a freebie)
All in all, a very enjoyable afternoon...just goes to show there are a lot more single people out there that don't even have a computer that enjoy the company of another person

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Thanks everyone, for your words of concern. I've been staying off the computer more than usual, but it was nice to come on and see that I was being thought (and "talked") about.

I'm doing OK. Getting there and trying to figure out when I should go back to work and if/how to pursue a lawsuit. I'm pretty achy, move like a much older woman, but getting better daily. I'm told that my biggest long-term risk is from the intracranial(sp?) bleeding, that I may have memory/concentration issues for a long time.

My family is really coming through for me, as is the new BF.

RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Glad to hear that you are on the road to recovery Carrie...I would, by all means, pursue the legal aspects if there is ANY chance that this could have any effect on your life later on down the road. That's coming from someone that hates the "sue happy" society that we live in today.. but if you have medical fact to back it up, then talk to an attorney.....Take care and keep us posted on your progress, please.

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Well this is the big family weekend starting up here shortly....fortunately a plan has been made for a meal, my daughter made a surprise visit back and half of the visitors have deferred until next weekend for a visit for various reason...Next weekend will be one of the few Saturdays that I will have to work in over 2 years as I am installing a new system in a bank and Saturdays are the best day to get in there and make a mess, heh
Hope everybody has a great weekend and I'll look in on Sunday or Monday in hopes that I'm not just talking to myself on here these days.

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Wishing you a great weekend, Tinmantu. Surprise, from daughter! Hmmm. You have done well. Enjoy.

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Yes, tinman. Have a good time.

Walks, I think you jinxed me. My webtv is leaving out a lot of letters. Maybe I just need new batteries. Editing is a pain in the butt.

It has been a lazy week. Me and dogs are piled up watching tv. Tomorrow is a workday. CarrieB, please check in and let us know how it goes.

hope Spring brings you all fine weather

jc

RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Whew.....there is only one thing nicer than having company for the weekend....and that's seeing company going home...heh....had a great time, good food and got to pitch some horseshoes on a beatiful day yesterday...time to relax now and get ready for the upcoming week...going to be a toughie

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Yes, JC, change the batteries first. My first before it really went. I know where to get another keyboard, if you need.

Ahhhh, peaceful weekends, or more to look forward to, Tinmantu.

Hoping a great week to all! And still wishing CarrieB, healing thoughts.

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Thanks for you wishes, all. My sister was here this weekend, cleaning, cooking and organizing my house. I've appear to be really working this injury...

Went with sis to the Manet exhibit at the art museum yesterday, and got pushed around in a wheelchair. Interesting perspective. People are looking ahead and don't really notice you until you bump into their lower legs by accident.

Tomorrow, I go to work for a few hours. My first foray back to work since the accident. I haven't driven yet. Think I'll stick with the bus, for now.

Mike, I know what you mean about company going home...I'm enjoying my clean house, but looking forward to letting it slide a bit.

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

oh CarrieB.....Manet! There is an exhibit at the new Frist in Nasville that I am salivating to see. Renoir, Van Gogh, Cezanne. I will go!

Glad your weekend was a success tinman. I bet your mama was ecstatic. You have weekend part 2 coming up, don't you?

Yes, Walks. I will change the batteries. Part of the problem is the dog door, the cold weather, and the fact that I turn the heat off when I leave for the weekend. I don't guess a real computer would survive in this climate. Woohoo webtv! Have you heard that they are testing a new product? Gives me hope.

So, did you sample the vanilla, Walks? ~grin~

my advice to our CarrieB: ~laughing~ milk it, girl! and more seriously, take it easy until you feel 100% again.

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

No more big weekends for me for a while...yes more company is coming in next weekend but I will be working out of town and will miss out on seeing them....no slight to the ones next week but I was happy to have the weekend with the clan that showed up this last weekend....different personalities and different ways of having fun because of generation gap, I guess....mom had blast with all the attention and now she'll have another weekend to look forward to.
The weekend wore me out and I was in bed by 8:15 last night....haven't done that since I was a kid..lol
I'm going to look for the vanilla absolut next time I head to the store jc...flavored liquor is nice for sipping as I always keep a pint of Captain Morgans in the freezer. (strictly for medicinal purposes, of course)

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Knock, knock...

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Who's there?

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Who's there?

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Me taking way too long to post a message on another thread.

Who else is there/here?

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Caught ya!!!

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Yep, now what are you going to do now that you caught us?

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Hand cuffs could be fun.... hmmmmm.

 o
How was your day?...part tu

Shhh! We are hiding in the photo gallery, don't tell anyone!

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Handcuffs would work....as long as the are fur wrapped or plastic...otherwise I'd have a phobia....Stephen Kings book called Geralds Game gave me the willies about metal cuffs

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Ok, to get back on track...I was just checking since nothing was going on. And lo and behold, in the photograph section, we have handcuffs and.... well I leave it for you to read. So I would set you free!

Nothing new, continue on.

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Just a little back and forth humor, Walks....I am just relaxing today since I had to work Sat....going to do a little laundry and call a friend that I hadn't heard from for 4 years until the other night...she took a stab in the dark and sent me an ICQ message wondering if I was still alive...LOL...I'm going to tell her about TSL and see if she wants to join in. Sounds like she is a confirmed single like me so she might like a place to vent.

How'd the pizza party go yesterday, char?....I forgot to suggest 10 valiums for the kids instead of one for you..heh
Hope everyone's having a great weekend

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

I just learned the appropriate phrase to describe my status. "Confirmed single." LOL, thanks Tinmantu.

Might be an idea for another thread?
What does it mean? LOL.

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Being firmly set in ones ways or inveterate. Might be an interesting thread Walks...good idea...shall I start it to see how many others there are out there or would you like to?

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

You have tickled my funny bone, and I got out the dictionary.

Inverterate=habitual, firmly established.

LOL, Amen!

Could lead to quite a discussion!

All yours.

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

I survived the birthday party. I must have hit the lucky day when the service was great and the noise level was lower than usual. The other parents even commented how it seemed quieter than usual and everything was running smoothly. Mr. Birthday Boy had a sugar hangover this morning but quickly recovered to be able to go over to a friends house to play. I ended up staying and having a nice visit with the Mom. It got me thinking along the lines of being a confirmed single. I'll continue that discussion next.

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Ok, I needed a vent thread and this looked like a good one...heh....Summer isn't even here yet and my work is crazy (unusually warm spring temp...thanks global warming!)...normally 1 hour lunches at home but only half hour ones on the road if I am lucky as of late...the body's draggin, cuts on my hands and I can't relax and have that Absolut that I purchased last weekend because I have to get up and do it all over again tomorrow....Calgon take me away!!....Watch out this weekend, I may be in an Absolut ranting mood....Hope everyone else is having a more relaxing week.

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Well, Chargreen, I havent seen your contribution to the "confirmed single" thread. Did I kill it? LOL!

Sorry, Tinmantu, that business is good. Better now than when its 100 degrees and 100% humidity? I look forward to your Absolut rant!

Going to get a big project dumped on my lap tomorrow. Meeting, conference calls, legal. Drats. I was going to take vacation on Friday. Not with this breathing down my neck. Hope for more beautiful days in a couple of weeks.

Wishing all a good week and weekend.

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

I'm in the "confirmed single" thread, in the middle you must have missed me. I do wonder where everyone else went. Still waiting for Barbara's picture. I see she was posting a little but no pictures! I haven't had much computer time at home this week besides I've been too tired after work anyway. Tinmantu, it's been sunny and in the 80's here all week. I think our 5 minutes of Texas spring is about over! Hope your week is getting better.
Two more days of work until the weekend!

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Walks, you must have been secretly hitting the Absolut to have missed her post....that your browser isn't refreshing every time you go to a page....Tomorrow is FRIDAY!!!....I am going to survive after all...I was beginning to wonder, after the first two days of the week, but I seem to have gotten my second wind after going to bed early last night....I'll still do the Absolut and see if I can come up with a good rant for you, Walks....Hope nobody minds if my typing comes out like yours did when you had a broken keyboard. :)

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

my Absolut experience is that you can type with no problem....it just takes a few days to get up enough nerve to come back online

;-)

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

JC, good to see you, and again, LOL.

Tinmantu, I thought, I was going to work this weekend, and not be here. I missed a few, webtv does not have refresh. I can either look at all entries or command down to the bottom. When thread becomes more than ten, it is hard to read all.

I am off to the yard, the first mowing of the year, clean the flower beds, and trim and prune and.... If I am alive later, I'll join you in some absolut or for me, chardonnay.

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Hope you didn't work too hard today, Walks...we are getting up in numbers on this thread so another one is going to have to be started soon....decisions, decisions....should I be a turd (or turdess) like walks and post away so that someone else starts part 3?.....(shaking the magic Absolut bottle for an answer)

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Not there yet. Part III. Or who ever is creative.

I cannot believe I watched the basketball, I, of course wanted to see OSU win, :(

Or can help with a little chardonnay, and your absolut!

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

Yeah that game sucked....I am a Kansas fan first but a big 12 fan second...I hoped they would pull it off...it was a game of whoever had the ball last was going to win.

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu III

I dont feel like being a "turd."
You?

 o
who me?

No I would

 o
re:would

never

 o
re:never

stoop

 o
re:stoop

so low

 o
RE: Post it here....How was your day?...part tu

I am confused? Too much chardonnay..

 o
too much

maybe not enough chardonnay? :)

 o
it's over

time to start a new one or rant

 o
RE: almost to the end

I am not a turdess! LOL!
