Valentine's Day tomorrow, and I hope everyone has a nice one. Meantime, please send me a Valentine. No, silly, not a message or a rose or a box of chocolates. I mean a REAL Valentine! My very own man-type Valentine, just for me, for keepers.

Sigh. I dream on.

Check your email, Daisy....didn't have an address to mail to and snail mail might have gotten it there by St. Pats Day from here. :) ....Happy Valentines Day!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I love it! Would you believe, that's the first Valentine's message I've ever received in my whole life????? (The men in my life have been an unsentimental bunch!) I really appreciate the thought. I wish I knew how to reciprocate!

Well SO has thrown a wrench into my food plans. First, upon waking he declared himself too hungry to wait for me to cook breakfast, and asked me just to heat him up some leftovers. So there went my plan for that. He had chicken tacos. Not heart shaped. 😔 But I served it on a heart shaped plate,so I felt better about it. Then, he asked me to make him some fish that I bought for SOME OTHER DAY, not Valentines day,so i made it with some rice. He usually only eats 2 meals a day so not sure my plan for the heart shaped pizzas will happen. Well, it will happen for me, as I do not eat fish so I will make myself a heart shaped pizza later. I'll make him a smaller one in case he wants a snack later or something....

Librarian-gardner - what is that plant? Not familiar with it... I went to Trader Joe's a couple -3? weeks ago and right at the front door they had these gorgeous Hellebores in pots! 10 bucks! 6" pots, 12" high plants - phenomenal! I got 3 - all different - I have a couple of kinds in the ground, but i might keep these in pots to put by my front door in prime real estate when they bloom next winter. They are very moody looking... I don't have any roses blooming at the moment - pruning them all now - but the pictures you folks are showing are gorgeous! Happy Valentine's Day!

Oh, Jessie, did you send her one of those men who isn't already full of hot air? I've found that type generally difficult to come by, though the advantage to them coming thus endowed is that they tend to lack a need for air holes.

I'm thinking perhaps I was too much of a curmudgeon when new SO said "Saturday is Valentine's Day" and I said "yes, usually I find it best ignored". YIKES. I felt a little sheepish when he said he wanted to spend it with me.
