bra strap holder thingie

Hi, I usually hang out on kitchens and cooking forums but I have a question you might know the answer too. Forgive me if this is a repeated topic.

I'm looking for bra strap holder thingies that you sew onto the shoulder of a dress or top in order to keep your bra straps from venturing out from under the top and showing. You would slip your bra strap in between the small strips and snap shut.

My mother used to work as a seamstress in a fancy dress shop and they would sew these on every garment they altered. Unfortunately my mother is no longer with us and I can't ask her where to get these.

Any ideas -- and, is there a proper name for these things?

I don't know what they are called but you could sew a small length of ribbon to the inside shoulder seam and sew a snap to each end. The two piece style of snap that you find on small doll clothes would work.

I sent for some but they didn't work out What I did was take a piece of elastic You can figure out how long to cut it for your body
I safety pinned it to each side of the bra strap in back about 5 inches up from the back clousures. The only problem is you have to put the bra on closed and over your head. It takes getting used to.

they are now selling some kind of plastic thing on tv maybe tht will work for you try my method if it works you can sew he elastic to the back straps instead of pinning it.
