sewing together curtain panels

Purchased three 54-inch curtain panels. Want to cut one in half and sew the halves to each of the other panels (I need two wider panels to fit the window properly). They are rod pocket panels. Can anyone give me any tips on how to sew together. I am kind of stuck on ideas for attaching the tops (with the rod pockets).

After you cut them in half, you need to take loose all of the stitching on the side where you plan to sew them together - the hems and the rod pockets. Invest in a good seam ripper ($3-4). After you sew them together, just press and restitch the rod pocket.
