How can I make this teddy bear's head?

I'm trying to make this bear for my girlfriend for Christmas.

Fortunately it can be broken down into basic shapes. The head is what I'm having trouble with. The basic shape is what I'm trying to figure out. If you remove the muzzle, eyes, and ears, it looks almost like a football shape that is just rounded off at the ends. Where can I find a simple pattern to give me this shape? I dont have a photo of it from the side, but if you look at it from the side, it has this shape created by typing two parenthesis (). any help would be appreciated

You're right it does look like a football shape,and i think you can do it with that in mind.The muzzle is a separate piece,so that shouldn't be a problem.Make it out of scraps first and baste it together til you get it the way you want it.You can do this!!!! Let us see when you get it done.Good luck.
