How to join several curtain panels?

Posted by gatorgirlincolorado (My Page) on

I purchased several curtain panels to cover a wide window. How should I join them so they appear as one curtain please? I need to join together two panels for each side. The fabric is almost like microsuede. Should I sew them together and if so how? Should I consider taping them together? These curtains will be washed occassionally. Other suggestions? Thanks for your help and ideas.

Depends on the curtains are there tabs or are the straight across?
If straight across would probably use a french seam that would give them a custom look appearance.

Do a google on "how do I sew a french seam on curtains"

What kind of tops do they have--rod pocket, tab, gromets, pinch pleats? Each would have to be handled differently.

What kind of rod do you have? Are these curtains mainly decorative and are they to stay open, or do you wish to close them sometimes?

Without all the info no one can tell you just what to do.
