What fabrics are you looking for?

I purchase from the Fatquartershop.com frequently and the exchange difference is minimal for the convenience of online shopping.
Regarding duty - it's hit and miss. Whether or not you pay depends on if your parcel gets targeted by Canadian customs. I have had it happen once in five shipments and it hurts. Cost me 18 smackers for 40 dollars worth of fabric.

Thanks for the speedy responses! I have been looking for several prints from the Waverly Classic Companions line: Flip Flop, Happy Hour, Beach, Candyland... A friend & I are making purses and are looking for bright & fun prints. We have pretty much bought everything we could from Fabricland and are running out of new stuff.

Regarding Canadian suppliers, have you found Timmel's? www.timmelfabrics.com. Julie specializes mostly in fabrics for fashion garments. She has a great website with lots of helpful information. I would be intersted to learn of other Canadian suppliers that you have discovered.

Am looking for fun novelty prints. www.jandofabrics.com has great ones, but they are out of New Jersey and I am a little afraid to order outside of Canada. Some Canadian sites I like are www.wazoodle.com and www.tonicliving.com. Have recently ordered from Tonic Living, anxious to get the order. I am Canadian and purchase fabric from the US all the time at great prices compared to what I would pay in Canada. There are no tariffs on cotton. If you parcel hits Customs, you will pay GST & PST and a $5.00 customs charge. Shipping costs $9 - $14. US. If you can buy on a sale, it is still a great savings. in williams n.y. they carry waverly fabrics
will even order for you.
ckeck with customs. Ithink you can import $200.00
duty free. I go to fort erie about once a month
and have no problem.
