| Hello. I am new to this forum and a novice sewer. Someone gave me an almost new BrotherLock 929D serger and a Simplicity Quilter's Classic sewing machine. I thought I might attempt to make some simple gifts for Christmas on them but don't quite know where to start. I managed to get the serger threaded properly but I am mystified by the tension controls. I would appreciate any help or suggestions. |

| Thread it up and do some test runs--change tension controls one at a time and in small increments. I find it is helpful to serge a piece of cloth and then make a note of the tension settings..attach the sample & note together in a notebook. remember your original setting for returning. Especially helpful for differential feed. My sergers have been Elnas, so am not familiar w/your brand. Play and have fun and learn how invaluable the serger can be! |
