Looking for a jacket pattern

Recently I saw a very smart jacket which started out as a sweatshirt and had pieces of recycled jeans and other fabric sew on to it and then embellishments added on. The lady who was wearing it had taken a course somewhere to make it. Is there anyone out there who knows where I might find a pattern or instructions for this? Thanks very much for any info.
