Change dropped shoulder?

I have a shirt-jacket that has a dropped shoulder. I do not like the way it looks. Can I take a dart in the shoulder; take a large pleat; or do I have to rip it out and cut over again? (I'd rather not do that). Just asking, or should I just drop the matter? It's a pretty bright blur velvet. I did not make it. It is ready-made. Thanks for all your imput. Barb

You can try the darts or pleat front and back, but generally that just makes the upper arm do something strange, which means re-cutting the sleeve too. Do it with pins from the outside as a test.

If the sleeve is loose enough it might work.
