If your sewing machine is in a room with carpet, put a piece of 3/16" masonite board in the area so the chair will roll to and fro very easy.

Paint the back side of the masonite so it does not stain the carpet.

I bought an 4'x8' for $10.49 at Home Depot. Was enough for two areas. Thought about putting contact paper on the back side until I looked at the price and decided using left over paint would work great and be cheaper too. Contact paper would have cost $12-$16 just for one side.

My daughter covered masonite with contact paper to match the carpet in her home office and it looked great!
