Where I live [Haverhill, MA] there is a guy who used to own a Singer dealership and now runs a sewing machine sales and repair shop. He is amazing. He can fix anything, hoards parts and machines, and has a wealth of knowledge about sewing machines and sewing. Last time I was there for over 2 hours and he even taught me how to blind hem!
He's the man! Hope you can find someone like him!

People like the guy lamalu found are the BEST! I once found one in one of those free weekly papers.

Check out www.brothermall.com; it's different from the brotherusa.com website. They sell presser feet and stuff like that at brothermall.com, so they may have power cords, too.
