sheer curtain repair

Can anyone suggest a method for repairing a horizonal tear in a nylon sheer curtain? It is about 8 inches long and probably won't be too noticeable when the curtainis gathered.

Thanks.

My best suggestion is to get a piece of similar (or preferably the exact same) fabric and put it behind the tear, then sew with invisible nylon thread back and forth over the slit in a kind of zig zag arrangement. Cut away any excess fabric on the back.
