sewing for dachshund

I am searching for a pattern for a coat/shirt for a miniature dachshund. I have been to the store to look at patterns, andhave seen the 'circleofCrafters' forum. Because of the long body with a deep chest and short legs, it is hard to use a regular coat/sweater/pattern.
Do any of you know of patterns for this type of dog or know of someone who has sewn their own?
I must have 8 coats that she can slip out of easily. I do NOT want to sew the 'horse' like blanket/coat- the one with the big belly band going around the dog- no thanks.
Thank you

RE: sewing for dachshund

I spent some time on the 'net and really didn't find anything suitable. Can't you take a regular pattern and just add the needed length and shorten the sides to fit your dog? I had to design my own sweaters for our tiny Chihuahua since the ready-made coats were all too big for Yoda.
