I am needing an easy pattern to make cowboy chaps for a Halloween costume. Crazy me agreed to make them for my adult son along with a simple cowboy vest. Toy Story characters. Thanks in advance!

The vest pattern should be easy. Wait for Joann's to have a sale on patterns and then buy a vest pattern. Pick out the fabric that matches. Donna

Just thought of an idea regarding the chaps....two ideas, really. First, Oriental Trading Company has a costume pattern for cowboys that includes chaps. I'm NOT sure if it's an adult costume, though. Second -- take a pants pattern and fashion some leggings from it. Use velcro for the closure. Donna

Thank you! I did use a pair of my jeans turned inside out so the marker used would not show on the front when tracing. I designed a cumberbund-like waistband with decorative points from a prequilted black fabric and used grommets for the two ties in the front. When the kids send me a picture with the costumes on, I will share them on this site.
