Full StoryI'm planning on making my GDs holiday dresses with black velveteen bodices and sleeves(short), and either taffeta or dupioni skirts. I'm having a hard time finding washable taffeta(polyester)...I know it's out there, but I can't find the right combination of color and content. The dresses must be the same, but different colors(1 purple, 1 blue). I was hoping to make them washable, hence the velveteen(which I already have)instead of velvet. I love the look of iridescent dupioni and was wondering if anyone has tried washing it and what was the result? If it's possible to wash it and not lose the body and/or finish, I could go with that. Otherwise, I'll keep looking for taffeta and maybe do an overlay of iridescent organza. Thanks in advance for any information.
