Material for Trampoline netting attachment

We have a gigantic trampoline, and the safety netting tore away from the metal support frame. The fabric used to attach the netting t the steel poles was some lightweight nylon weave identical to the material in ikea bags. It broke down, became brittle and shredded.

I am looking for suggestions for a replacement material. The fabrics will be sewn into 42" long strips that are folded (12" total, 6" after folding), attached to the webbing to create an open loop for the metal frame to pass through. It is under tension, as it keeps the net pulled tight, and when the kids throw their bodies into it it is under some stress.

Finally, the steel poles are not galvanized, so the fabric has to be water-permeable to help reduce rusting.

Any ideas?
