Janome 9000

I searched the forum but did not get more than 2 hits.

I'd like opinions on the Janome 9000. I know they are not new models but I can get one from a dealer for $500. The dealer will service it and back it for that price. Are they as good as I expect or are there a lot of problems with them?

I am a new sewer (or plan to be) and this will be my only machine. I am mostly interested in sewing window treatments and pillows.

Thank you.

If memory serves me correctly,i believe they are a very good machine, and were quite popular a few years ago.

I have a Janome 9000, bought it 5 years ago and am extremely happy with it. Never have had a problem with it.

I've heard good comments on the Janome brand generally. Sounds like a good machine at a good price. You are wise to get the best machine you can afford. Ask that dealer to give you a basic sewing lesson on the machine if you are new to sewing.

You can save yourself lots o' money by doing your own home dec projects.

Not yet, honestly... I found a engine for my tractor so I bought that instead. Engine... sewing machine.... engine.... sewing machine. Sorry, but it's a guy thing. But, I hope to buy the sewing machine in 2 weeks. Hopefully, she'll still have one of the two left.

Thanks.

Not really a guy thing. Pillows for couch or get the south side tilled up for next year.... :-)
