Treadle sewing machines

Lehman's no longer sells treadle sewing machines, nor do the sell the cabinets that were designed specifically for the Janome machine. They suggested I try Chestnut Ridge Sewing; contact them at email: crsewing@sotainter.net. Dick Wright of TreadleOn reports it was not easy to put the Janome in a cabinet; he used a brother cabinet circa 1970's

On the other hand, it's quite easy to take a set of orphan irons and make a top to fit. Here's a picture of me working at a machine mounted in such a top. Notice that we just made the slot overlong to accommodate the treadle belt. I'm also including the link to my webshots albums.
