?? about machine stitching Velcro

I tried to use Velcro as a closure but am having a big problem.

My rather old White machine sews everything else beautifully, and have tried using heavier needle, reg. and quilting thread, various stitch lengths as well as tension & pressure foot settings...but regardless of what I try, seams are not well sewn & stitches would never hold.

Anyone else have this problem??? All tips appreciated...

Is it the hook side of the velcro you are having a problem with? I'm guessing yes. The trick to sewing the hook side of the velcro is to sew along the flat edges of the hooked velcro, so the "hooks" don't catch your threads.

and make sure you are not using the sticky velcro. it will gum up your needle and make a mess.
