Brother SC9500 feed dog

I have had this machine since the beginning of the year. Everything was fine until a couple of nights ago. I finished a quilt, had the quilt foot on and the feed dog lowered, now the feed dog won't raise!(it has a switch in back to move it). The machine is currently taken apart on my kitchen table about to be put back together again because I give up. It still won't raise. I should't say wont raise, but barely raises. I would really like to fix it myself 1. because I am a "fix it" type of lady and 2. The shop has a 2+ week turn-a-round, and on something that is probably stupid, I don't want to wait. Everything is spotless inside, oiled and wonderful. It still sews if I want to feed it manually. Any ideas?

I have a different Brother machine, and I think the feed dogs don't come back up until you turn it on again. Did you try that?

I got the feed dog fixed, had to take it apart again and finally got that part to work, not exactly sure how, but I had turned it off and on several times. This machine is driving me crazy, next was the E1 error, got that fixed, was a little metal piece that wasn't being hit when I put it back together, but now it decided to not grab the bobbin thread. Soooo tired of taking it apart. Had to take a break from it for a bit.

try changing the needle
make sure the bobbin is turned the right way in the bobbin case.
