Help! Yellow wedding gown

I was asked to turn my mother in law's 60 year old wedding gown into a baptism gown for the first great neice in the family, born today. The family wanted the dress to stay in the family and be used by all the babies. I did one last year for a friend and it turned out beautiful, but her gown was new, clean and white. This gown is OLD, never been cleaned, yellow, has mildew in spots and the lace is dry rotted. I am going to look into having it professional cleaned before I do anything but I know that's going to cost a lot. I will only be able to use the satin part. Thankfully, the lining is the same satin fabric and is much cleaner, but still yellow.

My question is, what would you do? Would you make a yellow baptism gown to begin with? Or would you use the yellow satin as a base and cover with some type of white lace or organza over top?

Any other ideas?
